"Great way to travel between Riga and Vilnius"

We had a fantastic tour with Laura who told a lot of interesting stories. The itinerary was great and we visited a lot of beautiful locations along the way. Laura even dropped us directly at our hotel at the end of the tour. We would highly recommend this tour for others looking to travel between Riga and Vilnius

We had a great trip from Riga to Vilnius on the sightseeing tour bus. Our driver Matiss was a bit of a legend- he drove safely and gave us lots of information about the stops on the way. He dropped us to the door of our accommodation which was really appreciated. He even came back and brought something to us that we had left behind on the van. He also gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Can I actually rate the trip 6 stars??? ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Did a private tour from Vilnius to Riga, luggage and all. Definitely worth the drive to see the countryside and the sites listed. Hill of Crosses was worth it alone! "Unexpected journey on 2, October 2025"

Initially,just take it as a normal travel trip by bus as usual. Finally it became an expected trip for the whole day! The driver/guilde arranged the view points and time schedules perfectly so we all forgot the long day trip in comfortable van. We have lunch in a traditional restaurant with beautiful views. We still have chance to see the beautiful sunset in Kanas. Thanks for the driver/guild so much as he dropped us to the hostel one by one when arriving in dark night! Strongly recommend this trip to anyone who plan to Vilnius from Riga!

"Enjoyable trip between Riga and vilnius"

We left Riga on time and we visited 4 sights during our 11 hour journey-salapils memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses and Kaunas. All 4 sights were very interesting and we would be hard pressed to do it ourselves in a day. We also stopped for lunch in a nice Lithuanian restaurant. Our guide Matiss (Matthew?) was knowledgeable and a good driver. He would share the history of each location and leave us with sufficient time to explore on our own. We were expecting to find our way to our accommodation on arrival at Vilnius but he dropped us off instead. I would highly recommend taking this trip (and the similar Tallinn to Riga) if you are traveling between these cities, don’t fancy driving but still want to visit some sights and see some of the country.

Never a boring moment with Laura ,as she toured our group of 7 from Riga to Lithuania. She made us glued to the scenery, history,and culture of the places we visited. Passionate and patriotic, she gave us a great insight about Lithuania and the Baltics. Will definitely recommend her and her company.

We loved our drive from Riga to Vilnius with Laura. She was incredibly energetic and enthusiastic about her home country Lithuania! We stopped at several places along the way that were just wonderful and so historical, Salaspils memoriāls, Rundales Palace, Hill of Crosses, Kaunas, and Trakai Castle! There are a lot of renovations being done at both Kaunas (in the square) and at Trakai Castle - just a heads up before visiting!

Brilliant trip - Kaunas was a pleasant place to pass an hour, the Hill of Crosses was jaw-dropping, Rundale Palace was very pretty and the Salispils Memorial a thought-provoking end. Laura was a superb guide - informative, enthusiastic and fun - we gained an extra insight into the Lithuanian psyche.

"Perfect way of travelling from Vilnius to Riga"

This was a great day, and for me (who I did not have a rental car) the perfect way of combining transfer with discovering the beautiful countryside and sights between Vilnius and Riga. It was great to discover less touristy places such as Kaunas and the memorial site outside of Riga, and also to see the Hill of Crosses which is otherwise so hard to reach by public transport. The trip was hugely enhanced by our guid Ruta who was very knowledgeable and provided a really insightful local (Latvian) perspective on the region.

"Stops were interesting, no commentary in between "

Definitely worth taking the tour. Got to stop at places we wouldn’t have otherwise. Trip takes a lot longer than the direct bus, but it was worth it. The descriptions at the sites were pretty limited but enough. Just don’t expect a running commentary of the countryside as you’re getting there. But we were in the van, and the van driver was not a regular tour guide. The regular tour guide was in her car with three other people. So they might’ve had a different experience. But I’m glad they were able to fit us in. Otherwise, we would’ve taken a regular bus and would’ve missed these sites.

I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to travel from Vilnius to Riga! Yes, it is longer than a direct train or bus, but it gives an incredible opportunity to spend time with a very knowledgeable guide and also to visit cities and notable locations that would otherwise be difficult to get to.

I booked the tour specifically because most of the stops were not so easily accessible by public transport. I really enjoyed it - our guide Ruta made sure to answer any questions and gave interesting insights into Baltic history. The times spent at each stop were adequate I think. It's a long day but very worth it, do it if you are thinking about it.

The tour was well planned. It’s the best way to travel from Vilnius to Riga or vice versa. A lot of spots which we would want to cover and are difficult to cover by public transport are covered in this tour. The tour guide Ruta was very knowledgeable and was so friendly. As a local she has suggested great places in Riga as well. As it’s a mini van and not a big tour bus it doesn’t get boring and we get to interact with a a lot of people

"Opportunity to see some quirky landmarks "

Tour is an exceptional opportunity to see outside of the big cities and experience other landmarks you might not get to easily. I learned a lot on this trip. Our guide seemed knowledgeable, enjoyed traveling with us and gave us good tips for food. It might not be the culture in these parts of the world but it could be good to create an online opportunity or follow up for clients to give a tip if they wish. Many people don't carry much cash anymore so could be something to consider. It's not a requirement but certainly not a bad idea.

Our guide Laura was amazing. She was so knowledgeable, teaching us along the route about Lithuanian and Latvian, history, culture, and language. We were two Americans, and the other two guests were from Hong Kong and Singapore. We all had such fun conversations throughout the trip! The places we stopped were interesting, beautiful, and often very moving, and we had ample time to explore each one. The van was very nice and comfortable. The original meeting spot seemed a bit unclear at first, but we called the customer service number and got the help we needed to find our guide. We felt the price of the tour was very reasonable and well worth it! We very highly recommend this tour and this company! They are all-around excellent!

The tour was a perfect way to see more of Latvia and Lithuania than we otherwise would have from a bus, which was the other option to travel between the two cities. Laura was a terrific guide, extremely knowledgeable about the two countries and about the sites along the route. And a vibrant personality. She had the five of us comfortable as a group within fifteen minutes of leaving the meeting place. The van was comfortable, and the chosen sightseeing stops were varied and interesting, and perfect for breaks.

This is a long day but very interesting and so much better than flying or traveling via bus. We stopped at Kaunas, Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace and Salaspils. There was ample time to explore at each stop and our guide was a wealth of information. We would definitely recommend this mode of transportation and Laura!

I really like this idea of sightseeing from one place to another. I have travelled the world and been from country to country. I think it is clever and great to have this option rather than just taking a bus from one place to another. I was able to see a lot of sites that I wouldn’t have been able to go to due to time constraints. Ruta was knowledgeable and friendly. The van was comfortable as there were only 6 of us rather than 8. The restaurant we stopped at served delicious food with reasonable prices. The sites we stopped at were relevant and we had enough time considering it was just a day tour. Definitely recommend this tour!

My van is good. The staff is kind and professinal. Lunch is delicious and not expensive. The programe is sufficient. Usually one day tour from Riga to Rundale palace is 60-80€ and one day tour from Vilnius to hill of crosses is about 50-60euro. So it is a most valueable way to transfer from Riga to Vilnius.

The lunch stop was very yummy and a great location and the fact that she ordered our chosen food ahead saved us time. We really enjoyed this tour! We don't drive, which made it challenging when planning a trip that would take us to all of the key places we wanted to visit in Latvia and Lithuania. This tour was perfect because it took us to many of those places while also moving us along to Vilnius, the next stop on our Baltic journey! Laura, our tour guide, was great. She is energetic and kept the tour moving along with the perfect amount of time to visit each place. If you unfortunately fell asleep in the car (jet lag, not boredom!), you didn't miss important details, as she saved the key facts for our stops to see the various sites. Laura somehow remembered everyone's names! There was a good variation in the types of sites we visited. A must see for us was the Hill of Crosses, and we were glad we saw it! We were also glad to visit the Salaspils Memorial and the Rundale Palace. It's hard to choose, but my favourite place we visited was Kaunas. We took this tour in December, so the Christmas Market there was a site to see, especially lit up at night! This was a jam-packed day, but a great way to travel between Riga and Vilnius and see unique sites along the way. We highly recommend this tour or the same tour in the other direction.

My sister and brother and I , we booked a private van with Traveller Tour Company from Tallinn to Riga, and then from Riga to Vilnius. I can't recommend this tour enough. We were a group of 8 women traveling together, and this transfer tour made the process of moving all of us (and all of our luggage) from one city to the other not just completely painless, but also genuinely enjoyable. Turning the day into a lovely, relaxed tour where we could get out and wander and see the incredible sights along the way turned what could have been a boring transfer day into a truly memorable part of our trip. This is the best way to see both countries more than just the capital cities and it's the most time-efficient way. So much better than a boring bus ride if you go direct between the 2 cities. I had wanted to visit the Hill of Crosses before coming to this region, and it would have been an extra day's excursion from Vilnius if I hadn't joined this tour. It was a fantastic trip! I also had chance to visit some places that I hadn't heard of before. Laura was very friendly, enthusiastic and fun. I feel very lucky to have her as the guide. Unless you are flying or self-driving, this tour is your best option travelling between Riga and Vilnius!

Excellent tour to explore beautiful sights on the way from city to another. Laura was the most accomodating guide, she gave us good introductions to all of the sights before we went to explore them independently. We were delighted to see Mike at the Riga meeting point since he had recently escorted us from Tallinn to Riga. Mike has a good singing voice and is spontaneous with his stories. Like any good story teller, he does not let you know at the beginning that he is going into story mode. The weather cooperated with our journey. Although Mike did not have to deliver us our hotel, he surprised us again by doing just that. It is a wonderful way to enjoy sights while enjoying the weather, Mike's stories, and seeing interesting sights along the way. What a nice combination to create a terrific travel memory.

This was a great way to see a little of both Latvia and Lithuania other than the cities, and was made even better by Laura, who had more energy for 12 hours straight than you could possibly imagine. This was my second tour and there were four of us who previously took the Tallinn-Riga bus two days earlier. The only downside is that the lunch restaurant ran out of beer, which I think may have been a capital offense in Lithuania, although the venison sausages were delicious.

I was a little nervous about booking this option for traveling from Riga to Vilnius. I was a solo traveler in my sixties who doesn’t like tours. I shouldn’t have been nervous at all. It was a wonderful way to make the trip, and to see a few things in between. Our guide, Laura, was just delightful — giving us the background of every site we stopped at and, of course, telling us why her hometown of Vilnius was the most wonderful place in the world. The places we stopped — the Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, and Kaunas — were varied and interesting. Sufficient time was allotted at each, and we arrived in Vilnius around 8PM, which at least in my mind was perfect. I recommend this.

We loved our tour - led by the enthusiastic and warm Laura. We had 6 passengers in total - four of us (2 kids) and 2 others, so it was nice and small and never felt like a tour group. Laura was fantastic, and we enjoyed every minute.

This day's itinerary is a bit packed and I'd suggest changing the pacing/ focus a little Maybe just a little longer at the first view stop to wander around. Medininkai Castle was lovely and the right amount of time. But I think more time is needed for Druskininkai - it felt like a long drive for a short visit and there was more we wanted to see there. I think there should be time to see the town and the fountain and the shops. The cable car is ok but not worth the time compared with seeing the town. Grutas Park is an odd place - really just a collection of soviet statues that didn't really work very well as a museum - we would have preferred far less time there (if any, to be honest it can be skipped). I suggest giving people the choice of where they'd like to spend time. Laura our guide was great - this tour company has very high quality guides and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I'm a huge fan of transfer tours, even though they are long days, you get to see and do so much! Laura our guide was lovely and flexible in terms of how/where we spent time (though I would suggest some quiet time in the van as too much music can make it hard to relax/ doze off on the road). I really appreciated the way Laura communicates history in a way that we could understand and remember - we learnt a lot! :) The hill of crosses was a surprisingly interesting stop and we got to see the roses blooming at Rundale. First of all: even if the weather is harsh, don't hesitate to take part in this tour! The guide was funny and knowledgeable, and definitely contributed to make this trip even more pleasant. It's been raining with high wind for most of the day, but, honestly, this made even more interesting the experience at Salaspils and the Hill of Crosses. Of course, if you want to fully enjoy the Rundāle Palace Garden with all of its flowers, it is better to book the tour for a sunny day in May or June. St Peter and St Paul Cathedral in Kaunas is literally a piece of jewelry. All highly recommended!

Let's you see sights that you would need a rental car to see and turns a mundane bus trip into a great day of sight seeing. Riga to Vilnius was great, highlights were the rose garden at the Baltic version of versailles. Also had a fabulous lunch at a deer farm Audruvis. Restoranas. The venison carpaccio and beet soup were spot on.

Such a fun trip from Riga to Tallinn. I’m so glad we had enough people to do the tour as I can’t imagine my Baltics trip without it. All of the stops along the way are “must see” so this is an excellent way to do a road trip but with a local guide. Laura was so energetic and fun and really exuded love for her homeland and knowledge of the history. We paid to do a quick tour inside Rundale Palace (only the gardens are included in the tour) which is good because it started pouring rain. The time allotted for Kaunas was enough to really take in the old town and see the castle. Highly recommend!

A really great way of making the most of crossing the border. It’s really easy to just think of the cities when visiting the Baltic countries, however there are amazing locations outside of the capitals too and this trip is a really easy way to visit these locations. Our driver/ guide Mike was brilliant. He shared just the right amount of information at each stop and was able to answer all of our questions. "A fun and interesting way to travel from Vilnius to Riga"

We were a group of eight friends who decided to use this tour to get to Riga. It was a great decision. We got to visit the town of Kaunas that we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The stop at the Hill of Crosses was both eerie and interesting. We were then lucky to have the most beautiful light when we got to Rundale Palace. Because we travelled in the very late Autumn, the days were short and saw the most beautiful sunset there. Laura, our guide, was enthusiastic and gave a fantastic energy to the whole tour and agreed without hesitation to try to see Salsapils in pitch darkness. Thanks to one of our friend’s strong photography lighting we got to experience this place in a very different way. It was intensely emotional. All in all, we had fun and saw so much more than we would otherwise. For a great price. Thank you!

We took this toor in our last day in Vilnius. The guide Laura was amazing! She presented us Vilnius old town with it’s beautiful historic monuments and Trakai National Park with the majestic medieval island castle, traditional village and romantic manor which are all sorunded by nature! Highly recommend this tour to allow you to see some of the most interesting sights whilst also accomplishing the need to travel between the two cities. We had the first tour for Traveller Tours for the season due to coronavirus, and it was wonderful. Because no one else had booked we ended up with a private tour and had Ruta as our guide. She was a smart and kind guide and very patient with our 1 and 3 year olds. She was also proud to be Lithuanian and that was fun to see the Baltic pride and learn from a local. We loved the sights included in the Riga-Vilnius tour and thought the country side of both countries was stunning: lush, green, and in full bloom at this time of year. "Not Just a Ride, But an Experience!"

As I understand it, the easiest way to get from Vilnius to Riga is to take a bus, and if all you care about is getting from Point A to Point B, I imagine the bus is fine. But if you are a traveler, and you really want to see more of Lithuania and Latvia than just a brief overview of their capital cities - and if you really want to get an understanding of the countries and the region from people who are from the area - you HAVE to do this sightseeing bus tour! Pickup (and arrival, for that matter) were on-time, but still left the group plenty of time for the scheduled stops (Kaunas; the Hill of Crosses; Rundale Palace). It seems like we had a "bonus" trip, because there was another guide who was actually "playing tourist" that day, so we had two sources of information and opinions to give us the complete story. Very well done, and highly recommended!

It was a joy to travel with my driver/guide, a fresh and knowledgeable young women. The choice of highlights was spot on from the sobering Salaspils Memorial, the beautiful Runsdale palace, the Hill of Crosses to Kaunas and its charm and history. The Lithuanian countryside and its agriculture was also most interesting to me. Breaks were well timed with an enjoyable time over a meal at a deer farm and some time on my own allowing me to photograph and reflect on things seen. Loved every minute of this tour. It’s a long day but worth it. Our guide Ruta was brilliant. Great knowledge and answered all our questions. She also took care of all our needs - comfort stops, lunch stop and coffee stop. We visited all the places listed and our guide gave information at each point. It’s also a great way to meet fellow travelers we had representatives from Thailand, Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico and ourselves from Ireland. Ruta was a great driver and we could judge this as we rode up front. Very calm and safe. If you are considering this method of travel go for it you won’t regret it.

My girlfriend and I took the Traveller Tours trip from Vilnius to Riga last week. It was a minibus of up to 8 and we were a full complement. The minibus and driver/guide arrived at the designated collection point early and introduced herself to us all and made us very welcome. It was clear from the outset our guide, Ruta, was enthused and full of passion. She spoke with great enthusiasm and exceptional knowledge about her country’s history - you certainly would not have thought that English wasn’t her first language her description being in great detail. All in all a great way to travel between these beautiful cities and to gain an appreciation of their history as well as to visit several interesting places en route. Would thoroughly recommend.

The sightseeing bus from Vilnius to Riga is amazing, there is no better way to travel between the two. Interesting stops along the way make the long distance seem short. Our tour guide was Laura. She is professional from warming us up to sharing with us what we are supposed to know about the scenes and history throughout the tour. What's more, she's an excellent driver, making the travel comfortable. Concerning the tour spots, I would suggest adding another half-hour stay at Kaunas. All in all, I highly recommend this to everyone planning to travel from Riga to Vilnius.

"Money well spent"

We upgraded to the private transfer (Riga to Vilnius) as we wanted to visit some different attractions (and also spend more time at some) to those on the group departure and it was well worth the extra expense. Beatrice met us at our apartment a few minutes early in a spacious van for a brief stop at Salaspils Memorial for a very brief stop as it started to rain. Beatrice was then able to time our stops at Rundale Palace and Hill of Crosses for longer stays while the sun was out and then drive during the rain (using a weather app we assume). We also had an extended stop in Kaunas where we visited the main churches, Beatrice showed us her favourite street art and then also visited Ninth Fort before proceeding to Vilnius, where Beatrice also assisted us in communication with the apartment owner. Overall it was like travelling with a friend rather than just a guide.

This tour is the best way to travel from Riga to Vilnuis. Ruta our driver/guide was so knowledgeable and in the nicest way she took us to places where we would have had to organise a day tour from one or the other of the cities. We and five others were taken to Salaspils, the Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace etc. We enjoyed a nice lunch and the good company of people from other parts of the world and I would highly recommend travelling with this company. This was the 2nd tour we have done with Traveller Tours and I wish they had tours going into Poland. Much better than trains.

Recently I went in this tourist transfer van from central Vilnius to central Riga. The great advantage was travelling in a small group (only 8 people) and with a fantastic driver/tour guide. We gathered in Riga and met our fellow travellers from all over the world, and Ruta our driver and guide. First stop was Salaspils prison camp to hear the beating heart monument and see the enormous statues, then Rundale to see the gardens. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant followed by a visit to the astonishing Hill of Crosses. We stopped at Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, before arriving in Vilnius in the evening. Ruta was informative and entertaining, telling us lots about the history of the places we visited, and joining in the jokes and banter in the mini-bus. Well worth taking the time to travel on this tour. Can highly recommend this trip.

"When the touring and travel meet."

This tour is a great way to see Latvia and Lithuania attraction while getting from Riga to Vilnius. It would've taken us 4 separate trips from Riga and Vilnius to see all of the attractions we have covered in one day. Our guide Kamile was very informative, upbeat and also had a good balance of quiet and tour time. Our 16 yo son was engaged and it is hard to please them at that age. I would also give huge praise to Kamille for being super helpful when we couldn't get into our hotel since we arrived late. When I couldn't reach hotel mgmt, I panicked and call the only person I knew in Vilnius at that time. Kamille was happy to help and went on looking into other available hotels even if that was not part of her job.

After we had already been on the tour from Tallinn to Riga we knew a little bit what to expect. But also this tour exceeded our expectations by far. Our great tour guide made our trip awesome with her open nature, her enthusiasm and of course her knowledge and driving skills. Together with the other really nice passengers, we visited a piece of France in the Baltic States, saw an impressive war memorial, another town and admired the Hill of Crosses. The tour is very well worked out. The huge sculptures at Salaspils are amazing, and you'll never see anything like the Hill of Crosses anywhere else in the world. Rundale was okay, but not particularly impressive after the palaces in St. Petersburg, and although it was nice to have a stop in Kaunas, it doesn't have the attractions of Vilnius. Four of us booked this tour and even with the maximum eight, the bus wasn't too cramped. It sounds like a long bus journey but its neatly divided by four stops, two in Latvia, two in Lithuania so doesn't feel too onerous. All three sightseeing stops were great and few people around. Lunch was the fourth! Laura gave us plenty of information on each stop and general history of both countries. She was also an excellent driver! Would recommend.

Two of them, Salispils in Latvia and Hill of Crosses in Lithuania, were emotionally very moving. Had a long but thoroughly enjoyable day travelling from Riga to Vilnius via the Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses and Kaunas. Our stop off for lunch was also good, the meal was tasty and good value. The eight-seater transport was very comfortable and air-conditioned and the itinerary interesting, but the real star was our guide Laura, from Lithuania. It's not often you meet a guide so energetic, knowledgeable, friendly and with near-perfect English. Such a lot of fun too, an absolute gem. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone, many thanks Laura!

First stop at the Salaspils monument and museum at the Nazi punishment and labour camp. Very moving site where you can hear an eternal heartbeat. Rundale palace was magnificent with awesome gardens. Hill of Crosses was amazing with over a million crosses of all sizes. Last stop at Kaunus with time to walk around the park and old town. Our guide (so sorry can't remember his name) was a very good driver and was very informative and made the trip interesting. Arrived in Vilnius a little earlier than expected amidst the 30 year Baltic Way celebrations.

This is definitely the BEST way to transfer between Riga and Vilnius - with four really interesting and varied stops along the way - the Salaspils memorial, the beautiful Rundale Palace (the largest in the Baltic states), the unique Hill.of Crosses, and the very pretty former Lithuanian capital of Kaunas. A lovely lunch stop is also included - venison steak excellent. Our guide and driver Kamile was bubbly, chatty, informative and pleasant - despite having to drive 450 kn in a day! The only suggestion I would make for improvement is that possibly a little longer could be given time-wise at the Rundale palace for those travelers who want to see inside the palace in addition to having a look around the beautiful gardens.

When you are on your tour through the Baltic states and want to travel from capital to capital, the Sightseeing Bus is the right choice if you do not only want to get from A to B, but if you want to see more of the region, learn about the sites and meet other people (but not too many). Our tour from Vilnius to Riga was perfectly organised. The four sites to visit were quite different: a historic city center (Kaunas), a religious pilgrim place (hill of the crosses), a baroque palace (Rundale) and a memorial site (Salaspils). Entrance fees were included. Ruta was a good and safe driver. I liked her diverse taste for music and the variety of musical styles that we heard during the trip. What really makes her stand out as a tour guide (and we have seen many) is her anticipation of the guests' needs. She answers before the question arises. All explanations were clear and precise, and she explained a lot, always adding a humouros note. Her enthousiasm is great and covered all sites in both countries. Definintely recommend! The special gift at the end of the trip: a city map of Riga with recommendations written by locals. However, it is from last year and already partly outdated, as some of the described cafes no longer exist.

While organizing our Baltic holidays we found out there are not many options to travel between Vilnius and Riga, and this tour probably is the best one! We could travel confortably and safely while visiting some interesting places we would have not be able to reach by ourselves (some of them we actually didn't even know of, like Salaspils Memorial which turned out to be our favourite one!). Ruta was a perfect guide and gave us all the basic infos about the places, without making it too long and boring. At first I wasn't really happy to find out Trakai was taken out of the tour, but now I can easily see it perfectly makes sense as it's very easy to visit by yourself, and would have taken too much time away to all the other places, which are a bit rushed already. Even if you're not a "social" person, the Van is large and confortable so you will have all the "personal space" you will need. My husband and I surely recomend this tour as the best way to move from Vilnius to Riga!

Combining inter-city travelling, and rural sightseeing, is a great concept. We left Vilnius with Ruta at the wheel, and stopped at 4 very different places in rural Lithuania and Latvia. We travelled as a group of six, from Hong Kong and Japan,. Although we have not been lucky in terms of weather (cloudy and rainy), we were very lucky to have Kamile as our guide. The tour itself was very well balanced in where to stop and what to see; we enjoyed the coutryside and learned a lot about the history of both Latvia and Lithuania. Kamile was also extremely helpful when, at the end of the tour at Vilinius, the hosts of one of our Airb&bs were quite irresponsible and our friends could not enter the apartment. She helped us communicate with the hosts by phone and although it must have taken longer than usual, she's dropped us all at our respective lodgings. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this mode of travel as it is much more fun than flying.

This is such an enjoyable and efficient way to travel from Vilnius to Riga, getting to see sights off the cities which would have required separate day trips. Having a guide like Ruta was such a bonus too as she has such bright, positive and infectious energy (you can tell she absolutely loves her job and what she does!). I also liked that this mode of travelling was kept small but yet allowed us to get to know fellow travellers from other parts of the world. Glad we made the choice to travel this way!

Ruta is an excellent tour guide. Our first stop was Salaspil, Latvia which was a Nazi camp. However, as we well know while the Soviets were building this Memorial Park, they (Stalin...Brezhnev) were shipping Latvians to Siberian Gulags. ¿Why haven't the Latvians built some Memorial here to all the Latvians that disappeared during the Communist Era. Or: ¿Is Latvia Still under Soviet Control?

Tour was great and so was the guide. I am aware that visit to Trakai was recently taken off the scope of this tour. But I think instead of Rundale Parish, Trakai still would be a better alternative. The Parish is nothing other than an old mansion on a poor garden. I believe that part should be reconsidered. Other locations were cool places to visit and our guide was really amazing. I am thankful that I took this tour!

This was a great tour to make the most of the day travelling between Vilnius and Riga. We had various stops at interesting historical sites in Lithuania and Latvia (as well as a rest stop for WC use and snack buying). Kamile was open to all questions and clearly communicated to the group the timeline for the day. There is a lunch break but it is good to come prepared with some snacks for the morning and afternoon rides.

From our friendly, knowledgeable guide Kamile to our interesting co-travelers, this was a fun and informative series of visits from Vilnius to Riga. The most powerful one was in Salaspils where Kamile shared her own family’s suffering at the hands of the Soviets. It spurred a fascinating discussion linking the horrors of the Holocaust to those of Soviet occupation. One of the guides from a companion group joined us, adding much to the give an take, There was much to learn and much to acknowledge. But there was also the opportunity for interesting and friendly chat over a tasty lunch. Our group was very international, representing 3 continents. Many thanks also to Kamile who offered to drop us off at our hotel at the end of the ride. Much appreciated since we were the “old folks” among these wonderful, youthful travelers. Great to have all the stops along the way, but really missed not going to Trakai. Would have traded Kaunas for that experience, for sure.

We had such a spirited tour guide, Laura, who made all the difference. She was knowledgeable and her energy levels were so good! So, all the stops we made along the way were right up my alley - the holocaust memorial, the hills of crosses, the palace on the Latvian Lithuanian border. The whole trip was my money's worth. You guys should seriously considering charging more because it is so worth it. The lunch halt was also in a very nice restaurant. In all it's for whoever wants to see the Baltics in its raw beauty.

"Fun, facts and not so many freeways"

As an alternative to flying or getting the coach between capitals, this is great. The journey times between stops are very manageable (with plenty of toilet stops for those who need it), the bus is comfortable and roomy, and the places you visit are varied and interesting. The highlight for me was the Salaspils Memorial Ensembe. Beatrice was a great driver and guide, and she has a wonderful singing voice! Lucky to share the journey with some wonderfully interesting fellow travellers.

We were a group of five people from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil and Germany traveling with our guide Ruta from Vilnius to Riga. Ruta was a very knowledgeable guide, who was passionate about her home country and gave us los of interesting information on the history and culture of Lithuania and Latvia. She was very pleasant and friendly and always wore a smile on her face. The places we visited are not easy to reach if not by driving, so this was an excellent way to see places I probably would not have seen otherwise. At every stop, Ruta gave us an introduction to the history of the place and then gave us time to roam around and explore by ourselves.

We absolutely recommend these trips to anyone travelling in the region who wants to see and learn a lot.

The stops were interesting and Laura was very fun and energetic. However, I think guests should be able to choose whether to visit the garden or the inside of the Rundale palace. For us, the inside was more interesting than the garden (we had seen quite LOTs of palace gardens) and I think if we decide to pay a combo ticket (paying additional cost), the total would be cheaper?

We visited Salaspils memorial, Rundale castle, the hill of croses and Kaunas. Our guide Ruta was great. We had a little bit of free time at every stop. The tour lasted from 9am to 8 pm.

Well worth the cost, such an excellent way to get from Riga to Vilnius. Karolis was an excellent guide and it certainly doesn't feel like you are spending 12 hours on a bus journey.

It was my right decision to travel to Riga with Traveller, instead of going by a local bus. The 4 stops are really interesting plus a nice restaurant with good taste and reasonable prices. The most important is the guide, who is Beatrice. She is a wonderful woman. She is funny and super friendly. She entertained the group quite well and gave us enough information, plus she has wonderful voice. However, I also have got a negative comment about my seat. My seat was just next to the driver. Actually, it was so nice to sit next to the lovely driver like Beatrice, However, my seat is so narrow. I couldn't extend my legs through the trip to Riga. I would suggest either to skip this seat or the tour guide should come up with an idea to rotate the seat. (I took the trip from Riga to Tallinn, one of our group suggested doing like this, which was very nice. We all can move around not fix to someone through the trip and fair to the one who sits at the bad seat.

Our guide Laura was one of the most enthusiastic people I've ever met and her energy didn't falter once throughout the day. She tried to teach us a couple of Lithuanian phrases and explain the culture too which was really great to hear from a personal experience rather than from a book or website. The tour was good to see more of Latvia and Lithuania than just the capitals. The Salaspils memorial was worth seeing although very poignant and definitely made you feel the tragedy that occurred there. The only things that could be improved is maybe the guide being slightly quieter at the memorial as it felt a bit uncomfortable her doing the history so loudly as we were walking through. May be better to stop and group us around to talk for this site. Also, there was a lot of Abba on the bus- this may or may not be good depending on your view!

The tour was brilliant. A wonderful way to get from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide was charming, witty, spoke excellent English and could sing. Kept us entertained for the whole trip! I'd certainly do it again.

This tour was a great decision with its combination of transport and sightseeing. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable and interesting. He obviously had a real passion for the areas we visited - he even sang stirring Latvian songs for us. We got to see places we would never have thought to visit and learn the basics of Lithuanian and Latvian history. Initially we thought this would be a difficult day due to its length, but the trip was broken into easily manageable sections and the time just flew.

A perfect way to go from city to city- see the sites along the way while garnering so much good information from a personable guide and making good friends from all around the world during the trip! What could be better than that?! We usually try to piece together public transportation to get around, but we are so glad we chose Traveller Tours instead. Don't think twice about it, book it!

It is a great and interesting method to move between cities in baltic states. We stopped at some very interesting spots on the way which are not reachable by public transport. Beatrice is our guide. Energetic, talkative and caring! Highly recommend esp for people dunno driving like me.

I had an awesome time doing this tour and I fully recommend it. Our guide Rūta was highly competent and shared a lot of historical facts with great passion. She also took care of every detail: music playlist, food suggestions, questions and responsable driving, always with a big smile. The hill of crosses, the Rundāle palace and the memorial monument were definitely the highlights for me, but highly unreachable by public transportation as they are in the middle of nowhere. So this is definitely a great option to get yourself from Vilnius to Riga without missing these interesting places.

This is a great way to see more sights while transferring from Riga to Vilnius. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. My only recommendation is if we’re running late and a sight we should see closes soon, make sure to go there first upon arrival, then see the remaining sights in the town.

What an amazing trip! I would not recommend going from riga to villinus any other way. One of the best tours and kamile was amazing!

We chose this trip over the regular bus/train services to see something of the countryside. We were not disappointed. Had a chance to explore Kaunas and see the Hill of Crosses and a Soviet WWII monument. Not sure if all tours are the same tough. Also stopped for lunch, but having snacks for the nearly 12 hours helped (water was provided). Our guide was very knowledgeable and drove very safely... both are qualities highly appreciated. And yes... the 12 hours are long and tiresome at times, but otherwise we would have missed the countryside. We also did the Riga-Tallinn ride.

Great way to move from one capital to the next. I did the Riga-Vilnius trip. We stopped at some very interesting spots on the way that would take half or full day trips to visit on our own. Highly recommended!

Great way to get between capitals and see some of the sights on the way. The guides are very good and helpful. However our mini bus was a disaster. The seat belts did not work and eventually the bus broke down altogether. Another bus had to be arranged which meant we spent quite some time in a service station. ⁷Disappointing as not cheap.

Sights we saw were cool but all no cost but the one garden - which they pay entrance for - four Euros. Lunch not included, so the 65 Euros seems a bit much for the tour. Remember that 12 hours can also be a bit long. But, if you don't have another way to see these sights and you want to see these particular things, then this is the way to go. Laura was energetic but lacked in the guiding area in terms of recommendations or advice of bathrooms or what to see when you have free time.

I was happy to be able to visit the Latvian and Lithuanian countryside and learn a lot about these two countries at the same time. The car ride was long but that was also how we got to ask questions to know better of the lands. Our guide, Karolis, also told us many jokes that are both funny and informative! This tour is a fantastic way to travel between the Baltic capitals - public transport in these countries is not fabulous but on this tour, you get to easily travel from country to country whilst experiencing some of the sights and history along the way. Our guide, Kamile, was well versed in the history of the region and was a lovely companion as well. The only constructive feedback I have is that two such tours were run that day - I was in a mini bus at full capacity (eight passengers) but the other tour only had three people in the same sized mini-bus...

Laura was a highly dynamic guide, passionate and informed about her home country of Lithuania and the Baltic states in general. We had previously done the Tallinn to Riga tour so our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. Again it was really nice meeting a small group of people from all over the world and spending some time with them doing interesting stops that naturally sparked conversations. The stops on the tour were varied, quite different from the Tallin to Riga tour, well structured and thought out. The restaurant we ate lunch in had a tasty, locally inspired menu at reasonable prices.

With Karolis as our guide we set off on time and made the short journey to our first stop. By this time we were all chatting about our different experiences in the Baltics and looking forward to discovering more. The stops do vary but we visited the prison camp, mountain of crosses, a palace of the lover of one of the Romanov daughters and finally the old town of Kaunas. Our fellow travellers parted in great spirit and whilst a little weary from the journey far more aware of both Latvia and Lithuania. Great trip, very charming and knowledgeable guide and would recommend the experience to young and old alike.

Just took the tour from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide, Mike, was really friendly and personable, and made the trip for us. He kept up entertaining conversation as the picturesque fields rolled past and we chewed our Latvian “cow candy”. He also told his family’s personal stories as a means of highlighting the living history of this region. Also in our group was a family who had just taken part in the singing festival in Estonia, and Mike sang with them. A great host for a great trip. The trip itself was a set of places I would otherwise have no means of getting to, and that I may not have even known existed. I would highly recommend this tour and this trip!!

Our trip from Riga to Vilnius was amazing, in main part to our wonderful guide Lau. He had a bus full of ladies and made our day comfortable, easy and enjoyable. He was a master at the walk and talk and gave us plenty of time to see the sights, great background knowledge about each place and personalized drop off to each of our hotels. He also gave us each some Lithuanian chocolate and candies as a sweet gift! We really loved traveling with him and the sights we were able to see along the way which would have taken up much more time as day trips from Riga or Vilnius. If your time in Latvia and Lithuania is limited, this is a great way to see some of the highlights in the country side without the need for extra day trips from Riga or Vilnius. You're likely taking the bus between these two cities anyways, so I highly recommend this scenic route. Anna was a great guide and driver--she was knowledgeable about the sights and gave us plenty of time to explore most of them.

The concept is a great idea, yu travel from city to another and in the middles you visit reelevant touristic and historical sites. The tour guide is very knowledgeable, but as she is driving too. I think what is missing is to explain more of Riga and Vilinios cities when you leave and when you arrive. because when we arrive to ilnius there was no expanation about the city at all, at leas some ideas of where to go and what to visit would be helpful.

We had a wonderful, relaxed yet informative journey from Vilnius to Riga. 5 guests from Asia, Australia, North America plus our driver and guide Karolis from Lithuania (Europe). Karolis kept us informed with in-depth discussions and historical background on each stop, while keeping us on time. And he allowed enough free time to explore at each stop as well, which I greatly appreciated.

"Quick but lots of sites!"

We had a great time with our tour host, Lau. He was super upbeat, had some great playlists the he played during the drive (after lunch when we were all sleepy it was calming piano and ambient music), and he was really kind. He shared some great facts about each site but also insight into Lithuanian culture. We had a great time-- thanks for a lovely trip!

Great way to see a bit of the country outside the main cities of Riga and Vilnius. The Hill of Crosses was pretty cool and the large statues of the liberation of Salaspils in Latvia was educational. A great way to spend a day to those looking for a journey between these two countries and not just a destination.

Good experience, but may be would better if we had been 30 minutes more in kaunas. We arrived to Vilnius al 8:17 and the visit was from 9AM to 9 PM. It was a shame the rain in the hill of crosses

Great way to get from Riga to Vilnius. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great however still interesting sites. would have liked for the inside of Rundale castle to have been include in price. That with the price of lunch made the whole tour expensive for a family. The lunch however was a highlight, delicious and the best meal we had on our visit! Although we stopped at Kaunas it was late in the day and most museums, etc. were closed. Perhaps another site could be added instead of Kaunas. Kamile, our guide was affable and friendly and helpful. Although a bit expensive we would still recommend this tour as a great way of transferring between Riga and Vilnius.

This was a great way to see some sights that are farther away from Vilnius and Riga. The van was spacious and comfortable, the group was intimate, and Rūta was a wonderful tour guide. She knew tons of history, and it was fascinating to hear her thoughts on the contemporary political situation in Lithuania. She was well informed and thoughtful. I do wish we had eaten lunch in Kaunas instead of near the Hill of Crosses. We didn't have as much time in Kaunus as I would have liked, and the restaurant near the Hill of Crosses was mediocre. Other than that, I felt the tour was well planned and paced. There was plenty of time at the Hill of Crosses and Salaspils, and though I could have spent a long time both in Kaunas and at Rūndale Palace (interesting gardens!), we would have been exhausted had the tour been longer than 12 hours.

It is the best way moving to Vilnius to Riga. Firstly I planed to go to the hill of crosses by myself. But I noticed it takes time and I need to carry heavy luggage’s... This tour takes me some places I want to go, Kaunas , the hill of crosses and Rundāle pils. It is very nice experience in Lithuania. And our guide,Mr. Laurynas, is the best guide!!! He knows about the places very well and teach us kindly, sometimes with jokes:) I highly recommend this tour!

This was a great way to see interesting places in both Latvia and Lithuania, especially for a person like me who doesn't have a driver's licence so I can't rent a car. Our guide spoke very good english and told us a lot about the history of the sights we visited and he also gave us time to explore these places on our own.

This was a really excellent way to transfer between Riga and Vilnius and to see a number of interesting sights along the way. Anna was a fantastic guide - she was flexible and very aware of people's needs, whilst ensuring that the tour proceeded efficiently. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging and provided just the right amount of commentary. It was good to have sufficient time to visit the palace rooms at Rundale - another 15/20 minutes here would have been great, though there was a lot of other things to fit in. The lunch venue was very well chosen. The Hill of Crosses was spectacular.

We had an excellent tour from Vilnius to Riga. Our fellow passengers were great. We had so much fun together, Also, Laurynas, our tour guide, was superb. He has a wicked sense of humor and great taste in music. In addition, he is very thoughtful and sensitive. A bee was stuck in the van at one point, Laurynas saved him, named him Charlie and proceeded to make multiple puns about Charlie. As my husband said, he made the difference between a good and a great trip.

"A fun day with a glimpse to the past"

This is the BEST option to travel between two Baltic capitals and visit important sightseeing spots which are difficult to reach by public transport. Our guide Beatričė has not only taken us to the sightseeing spots, but further back to the history and the heart of the two nations (with her lovely singing as well). I would highly recommend this tour to fellow travellers, and will definitely participate the Tallinn-Riga one in my next visit. Just a quick word of suggestion: it would be great to have a sign of some sort (e.g. Vilnius to Riga) displayed for the meet up - although it was obvious in Vilnius as there was no other vans around, it may be a bit difficult for busier locations.

Overall interesting and informative but in an attempt (I guess) to make tour members relate to the horrors of children being separated from their parents at work camps, our guide very suddenly shouted “MAMA!!!” during his explanation. All of our group members were visibly startled/confused, as were other visitors at the memorial. This was completely inappropriate and should be stopped immediately.

This was a great way to get between the two cities and see some sites which would be very diffcult to get to otherwise. I feel like the tour could have started at 8am to given more time in Kaunas and to arrive at lunch earlier (our trip didnt have lunch until after 3pm due to normal lunch stop having a private function but it would have been 2pm anyway) Also, I think arriving at Rundale palace with enough time before the inside closed would give people the option to pay extra to tour inside and not just see the gardens (which were lovely). Not as much time needed at hill of crosses (stop, a few pics and away you go) or the Salaspils. Our guide was fun and very accomodating. Thanks Ruta!

This was a really good way to get to your next destination so rather than a sweaty bus try this instead and see some of the other things Lithuania and Latvia have to offer.

We were looking for transport between Riga and Vilnius, as we had been using trains throughout but none are available during the week, and we didn’t want to sit on a coach for over 4 hours. An internet search produced this tour, but we were initially a little dubious about its suitability for older people, as the pick-up point was outside a hostel and the promotion video features only energetic young people! However, from the moment Beatrice and her colleagues arrived in their shiny vans with their friendly greeting, we knew the day would be good! The 4 of us 70-year-olds from the UK were accompanied by 2 young ladies from Singapore, and we had a great time together, with Beatrice providing an excellent balance of information, personal anecdotes and humour, as well as being a very good driver. Lunch was good (especially as we ordered ahead, so didn’t have to wait long for it), and the palace, hill of crosses and Kaunas were all most interesting and enjoyable. We arrived in Vilnius after an excellent, full day. Full marks to Beatrice, our guide, a journalism student with a wide knowledge and excellent English, always prepared to learn more! We can highly recommend this way of travelling between Riga and Vilnius (or vice versa).

"Well-paced interesting way to go from Riga to Vilnius"

I was pleased that I booked 2 of the day tours with this company, both Riga-Tallinn and Riga-Vilnius. The Riga-Vilnius tour stoped at four sites. The first was the peaceful yet moving memorial to victims of labour camps. Next was the Rundāle Palace. After that the Hill of Crosses. And lastly Kaunas, former capital of Lithuania. Our guide explained the history clearly and with enthusiasm and was very knowledgeable about the region. She was also an excellent driver. The small size of the group was good as I guess we were therefore easy to manage - no poor timekeeping! The highlight for me was probably Rundāle. The gardens were glorious, the palace delightful. The low point if any was lunch as the restaurant was crowded with other tours and struggled to cope; and the food was not great ( compared with others I went to in the region. In general I would heartily recommend these one-way day tours.

This is a really great way to go between Vilnius and Riga. Get a chance to see places you wouldn't be able to otherwise. Group side is perfect. The guide is really good and witty. I recommend to consider this option for you.

We really enjoyed our experience on the Vilnius-Riga sightseeing tour. It brings you to places you wouldn't have known about or had the opportunity to see otherwise, and gives great insight into the history and stories of Latvia and Lithuania. Ruta was a very warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, and always kept our experience as the top priority. The journey in the minibus was very comfortable and the stops were broken up nicely so it flew by very quickly. Nice way to spend the day!

Our driver had great enthusiasm and was very positive. My only question is about the length of time at certain stops. I would’ve preferred much more time at Salaspils and Rundale Palace, and far less time (or not even stop) in Kaunas. Also, at Rundale, I wish we were given an option whether to see the gardens or the inside. (We were provided only a ticket to the garden.) I paid for my own entrance to the Palace, but had to walk fast to see it due to the short time there. These are just my opinions... But otherwise, Traveler Tours are a great way to see more of the countryside & harder to reach on your own places, and I recommend them!!

We had an amazing tour from Vilnius to Riga. Our guide / bus driver/ singer is lovely and shared her love of her country to us and she's truly passionate about her job. I joined the tour for the hill of crosses but turned out I'm more impressed by the memorial at salaspils.

We left a cross there for loved ones in our prayers. * Rundāle palace was grand and beautiful. * The Salaspils Memorial to victims of Fascism (Lithuanians and Jews) with its large stark somber monument and emotion evoking figures reminded us of the tens of thousands killed by the Nazis...even though created by the Russians who killed many more.

Laura our guide was brilliant! She was funny, extremely enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The sights we went to see we’re really interesting, and not crowded at all as they were off the beaten track & away from where most other tourists go. It was a fun way to see the Baltics. I wanted to give this tour 5 stars but I found the minivan to be very uncomfortable to spend 11 hours travelling in. A few hours would be ok but for a whole day of travelling it would be nice to be in a less cramped bumpy small vehicle. But other than that, great tour, highly recommend it

We chose this bus over an express coach or a train because we wanted to see something of the countryside between these two Baltic capitals....and we weren't disappointed. The bus was comfortable and the group small enough to entertain each other between stops. Our guide/driver was excellent: he was a smooth, considerate driver and a most knowledgeable and charming guide. The drives between stops were no more than 2 hours in length and the time at each of the places we visited was just right for seeing around.

I wish there was a little more legroom in the bus....i was quite cramped the whole ride.... But other than that, this was a fantastic trip. I learned a lot, the guide was very knowledgeable....you could tell he knew the subject matter from all the follow-up questions. And he was hilarious! He kept the group laughing the whole time. This tour was an ideal way to get from Vilnius to Riga and also to see four places that I would probably not have seen otherwise. The charming old town of Kaunas and the incredible and moving Hill of Crosses were the first two stops in Lithuania. The grand and immaculate Rundāle Palace and the very sobering Salaspils Memorial were the two Latvian stops. There was plenty of variety in the day and the group of six people (from Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa) moved at a reasonable pace and did not feel rushed at any stage. The guide, Ruta, is a safe driver and a source of much knowledge - she made the day very memorable.

Laura welcomed us and made it possible for a very disparate group to become adventure buddies! Laura’s knowledge and people skills kept us willingly on our toes throughout the day (which flashed by) She negotiated times with us, was kind and respectful. Nobody was left out or behind. Everything was done with a light touch and where possible her irrepressible sense of humour. There were serious times, when we visited the concentration camp in Latvia. Her knowledge about the places we visited and the history of the Baltic states gave me many more insights than my reading. She made the history real, human and where appropriate, funny. I have never been on a guided tour before but this has encouraged me. The day was fabulous, the lunch, the palace, the hill of crosses. My diary entry has gone on for pages rather than the usual brief notes. I will always remember that day and I know that my fellow adventurers will. Thankyou Laura, for a special, wonderful day. I will never forget it. Oh - not forgetting her beautiful rendition of the lullaby her mother sang to her!

I loved how easy it was to travel from Vilnus to Riga. The pace of the trip was relaxing and the stops along the way made the trip interesting. Our guide Ruta did a fabulous job of explaining the history of the area with lots of enthusiasm.

We traveled from Riga to Vilnius, all the places were covered as mentioned in the trip. The tour guide Kamile was very enthusiastic and provided every detail of the history behind each place. Trip was overall good but it ended early then the stated time, it would be great if you could add few more places in the trip and have a bigger bus/van so that it would be more comfortable journey for all. Also you could include the entry fee for the rundale palace (I.e for visiting rooms) would attract more customers and people would be able to memorize latvian dynasty.

We really enjoyed our day tour from Riga to Vilnius and could not recommend it more. It's an excellent way to make one's way between the capitals while also visiting interesting places along the way. The trip really appealed to me because instead of losing half a day to travel, you get a fully packed sightseeing day. The tour did NOT disappoint. We had an incredible guide - Laura - who was just a pleasure to spend the day with. She was very informative about all the sites AND she had amazing energy throughout the day. She was so enthusiastic and friendly and energetic that it felt like we were traveling with a new friend! It's great to spend time with someone who seems to be truly excited about her job. She provided a great introduction to Lithuania for us and she told us a lot about the region and the country. Overall, after a packed 10 day tour, the day we spent with Laura was one of the highlights for all four of us. Highly Recommend!

This is a great option for travel between Vilnius and Riga. There are interesting and educational stops along the way as well as other travellers sharing the experience. The small group is perfect. Our guide was both sociable and knowledgeable.. Our recommendation for the company is to clearly mark the vehicle and communicate with guests who or what they are looking for at the pickup point. We experienced 15 minutes of uncertainty that could have been avoided.

The stops along the way were well selected and the restaurant for lunch an added bonus. We are looking forward to continue our discovery with him between Riga and Tallinn.

A very well arranged tour with well chosen stopping points. 12 hours whizzed by! Punctual start with Ruta, a delightful young lady. Nothing was too much, the explanations were very clear and she shared a lot of details and held our interest throughout the tour. She was very patient and an excellent guide.Very comfortable bus.

"Best option if you plan to travel two cities"

The Vehicle can comfortably seat 7 passengers, with reasonable space for luggage. Anna is a lovely young girl who was the driver and guide. We can follow her at the sites, or we had total freedom to wander around. All sites are totally safe. The sites are well chosen, with must go places and the less known places - but we do not mind. It is advertised as a 12-hour journey and we finished in exactly 11 hours. I personally think 10 hours is long enough because you want dinner and city nightlife after arrival. We could not hear her from the back row of the car, and of course, you need to stay with her if you want to hear her at the sites. It would be nice if audio headsets can be provided, so we could hear her from distance. Bottom line, if you are a tourist transferring between the cities and want to see something during the trip, this is the most convenient and economical option.

It was an easy way to travel from Riga to Vilnius. We saw the amazing countryside outside of the big cities...beautiful. The holocaust memorial is so impactful, so well done. I found the hill of the crosses to be less so. The castle was worth the visit but the hour spent in Kaunas could have been by passed...we found a bar and a bottle of wine. Kamile outstanding and her recommendation for dinner proved exceptional.

"Great Tour – Try to go inside Rundale Palace if you have time!"

I'd booked this tour when it still included a stop at Trakai, and was a little disappointed when they changed the itinerary slightly to remove Trakai. However, after going on the tour, I think that was a great decision. The tour made 4 stops: Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, and Kaunas. We had a good amount of time at each place, although I wish we'd had 15 minutes less at Hill of Crosses and 15 minutes more at Rundale Palace. With the time given at Rundale Palace, you can either tour the garden (which is included in the price of the tour), or you can buy your own ticket to tour the inside of the palace. I managed to cram in both, but it was very, very rushed, and the inside of the palace ended up being the highlight of the day for me. I think if the tour cost an extra 10EUR and included the ticket to tour the inside of the palace for an extra 15-20 minutes, with less time at Hill of Crosses, it would have been perfect. We had about 35 minutes I think at Hill of Crosses, and it was a little too much since it starts to look all the same after a while.

First off this was our second trip with Anna. She is spectacular! Very mature and friendly. She handles every detail wonderfully and is a good driver! My favorite stop was the Hill of Crosses. The memorial in Latvia Salaspils was also really worthwhile - it’s one of the most haunting places I’ve ever been but important given that I brought my teen son with me in part to learn history of the region and we both appreciated all the stops and Anna’s knowledgable guidance at each location.

We had an awesome time on our Riga-Vilnius trip! Our guide was exceptional; he was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable. (It was 37 degrees, so that was no small feat!) He answered all of our questions with skill and humor, and taught us about Latvian and Lithuanian cultures. We took his advice about restaurants in Vilnius and have been amazed by our experiences. I hope to come back to the Baltic someday and take some more tours with your company. Our experience was fantastic and the travel was seamless. The cost was very reasonable, especially for the value we received. Could not ask for anything more!

I booked this tour a couple days before I had to get to Riga, was debating on taking the bus, but wanted to see the HIll of Crosses so I gave it a try. The morning of departure I got a text from my guide that everyone else had cancelled, but they're taking me on my own. I had a customized tour which was great, since I had specific things I wanted to see and others that I skipped or did quickly. So we arrived 3 hours early and I got some great video and photos from my tour. Thanks a lot, I'd recommend this sightseeing tour to everyone!

This was my second trip with this company. This was as pleasurable and educational as the one before from Tallinn to Riga. All the stops were well organized, the guides are always full of knowledge and humor. They are very engaging and keep everyone excited, even though several were tired from partying last nite. The stopover for food is well planned. The only thing I would mention that the food stopover is at a traditional food joint. Though it may appeal to many, it is not an establishment I would ever go to.

"Time travel"

All the people on the bus were thinking 12 hours is a long time. All the people on the bus were surprised how quickly the time went. The guide was very good, the stops were nicely paced, there was a good variety of places visited. A maximum of 8 people kept the experience more personal than a lager group and there was time allowed to do your own thing. Much more interesting than taking the 'normal' bus. I can only see this trip growing in popularity.

This was a fabulous way to travel from Vilnius to Riga (or vice versa). We got to see more of Lithuania in a small group of 7 without having to plan anything extra. We had a great bunch of interesting travellers , who were open to chatting and lots of laughs. Our guide, Karolis, has a dry sense of humour, which matched our group perfectly. I'd taken this tour in November 2018 from the other direction and had Laurynas as my guide. It was so amazing that I had to book this tour again for when my family came to visit me in Europe as part of our mini tour across the continent. I'd wanted to give them an experience they never forget. Much to my surprise, I had Laurynas as my guide again. I was extremely certain that they were going to have an amazing time as I did the last time when he picked us up that morning. Needless to say, they did! My family absolutely loved the trip and the time spent with Laurynas. The tour itself is extremely interesting with a lot to learn and see. But Laurynas definitely made it better. Given how we've really enjoyed this trip, guess I'm going to have to come back again in 6 months! :D

We did this tour bus two days after taking the sightseeing bus from Tallinn to Riga and had the same knowledgeable and funny guide, Mike. We enjoyed all the stops on this tour and also had a great time trying traditional Lithuanian food for lunch. I particularly enjoyed the Rundāle Palace gardens and the Hill of Crosses, but the Rundāle Palace had so much to see that we could have done it as a day excursion. Overall, we were really happy to have Mike as our guide again, and he kept us entertained during the longer stretches of driving by playing us Latvian songs and pointing out storks/other animals along the road. Both of the sightseeing buses we took were great and I would highly recommend both of them!

We took this tour as we only had a short amount of time available in both countries and this seemed like an efficient way to do it. The tour included 6 of us and then our tour guide Kamile. The small tour group was great as it meant we had some flexibility in what we did and we got to know some of the others of the tour. We got a good amount of time in each place and the whole tour was set at a very good pace. Kamile was a great tour guide and she had lots of interesting stories to tell us about her family who grew up Lithuania during the Soviet times. She gave us lots of information in each place and I felt like I knew quite a bit about Lithuania by the end of the day! I really recommend this tour for the local experiences and to see these amazing sights.

I really liked the tour, and the group I was with. As a solo traveler that was a key element. I got to sit up front which IMO is the best seat. Kamile was really knowledgeable, especially about the Occupation. And she was really helpful when i needed someone to take my picture. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the fact that we didn't visit Trakai even though when I purchased the ticket, it was listed as a stop. I didn't receive a notification and only found out when we drove past the exit. Not cool.

Karolis was a fantastic guide - friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about the history and biology of the region. And having just 8 travellers made it a fun and manageable touring experience. I was especially glad to visit the Hill of Crosses, which would have been difficult to do independently, and my only criticism of the itinerary was that Trakai Castle was removed after we had already booked the tour. I think it would be more interesting to include Trakai and leave out Kauna. Overall it was a worthwhile tour though and I would recommend it to anyone needing to travel between Vilnius and Riga.

Great way to make a road trip more pleasant! Anna, our guide and driver was down to earth, friendly, and provided great info about Latvia and the places we stopped along the way. The trip was very laid back and adjusted as desired by the group. I personally would have preferred stopping at Trakai castle and eliminating one or two of the other stops. I also would recommend that for a few euros more, participants could chose to be dropped wherever they are staying. It would be a nice convenience after a long drive!

However, I think that it is better to give more time at Hill of Cross because it is difficult to travel by own. Guide is very nice. "A day trip with Anna"

Well, i must say that Anna was a fabulous guide and knew how to communicate with the group, and as a lady she turned out to be an excellent driver, so we all arrived in Vilnius in one piece! . Usually i get nervous with female drivers as i bought my wife a new car 3 years ago and not yet brave enough to let her drive me around (Haha). A pity the Trakia stop was not included but realise that it was probably a good decision as the next day i spent 4 hours wandering around the peninsula. A pity that there is no option to visit the interior of Rundale Palace, but again there probably would not be enough time. The tour gave us a good idea of the four places where we stopped, and i particularly enjoyed the Hill of Crosses, leaving a cross there for my wife. The restaurant stop was in the middle of nowhere, might have been better to have lunch in the town so people had a choice. However i rally enjoyed my choice, shashlik chicken followed by apple pie and ice cream. The price seemed very reasonable for such a nice restaurant. I tried to book the Tallinn- Riga tour but unfortunately there were not enough people who signed up for it, a pity!

The countryside in the spring was really beautiful with yellow canola fields, blue skies and storks flying above. I was wowed by the gardens at Rundle Palace. Not something that I expected to see in Latvia. I booked the tour to see the hill of crosses and was not disappointed. Our guide was really warm-hearted and funny. It was more about the experience and less about the detailed history. He was really good at making us all feel at ease and connecting with a bunch of strangers. I would have preferred to arrive in Vilnius a bit sooner and skip out on our last stop as we we all tired and hungry by 9pm with only big lunch in our tummies but no supper. Bring along a granola bar would be my recommendation. Overall, loved it and would recommend it!

Lau (sp?) did a great job with the tour/transfer from Vilnius to Riga. He's a great driver, and a really friendly, humorous, and interesting guide. He gave our group a lot of great information about each site, and he went out of his way to make everything easier for us - brought the van to pick us up so we didn't have to walk back, gave us little candies, etc. The stops were very interesting (Kaunas, the hill of crosses, Rundale Palace and Salaspils Memorial) and it gave me an opportunity to see parts of Latvia and Lithuania I wouldn't have seen on a regular bus between Vilnius and Riga.

"Day trip from Vilnius to Riga May 2019"

This is a great way to travel from Vilnius to Riga, or vice versa. We set off in a small minibus from cathedral square and drove for about 90 mins to Kaunas, second largest city in Lithuania. Had a short walk around old town and then another 2 hour drive to restaurant near hill of crosses. After lunch at the restaurant three min drive to hill of crosses, 30 mins look round, then on to Rundales palace, then on to Salaspils memorial park. Arrived in Riga about 7pm. The driver was also the guide, he was very knowledgable and spoke excellent English.

The tour was fun and very interesting as we discovered a bit more about Lithuania and Latvia history. The stops were well spaced so you have frequent breaks during the journey. The minibus (8 people maximum) is a perfect size if you are not that much into "tour bus" and allows you to discuss with the other travellers and the guide. The guide was very friendly, informative and full of tips to make the most of Latvia. The driving could have been more relaxed though and we found that Kamile was often pushing to overtake despite us then arriving a few hours early. Otherwise a very enjoyable trip.

We are a family of four, 2 adults and 2 children, and when planning our Baltic trip, were initially looking at all options of getting from Vilnius to Riga (via a flight, train, bus and renting a car). By chance, we saw this tour bus option with Traveller Tours and booked it. It provides an opportunity to see some awesome sights along the way and before we knew it, we had reached our destination. The company uses an 8 seater vehicle which was spacious, new and comfortable. Our tour guide/driver, Anna, was knowledgable, great company and patient - all in all amazing!

Even though nobody else booked the tour and normally it would not run, the team worked with us to find a solution so that we could still go, and we're thrilled with the result! This is a clever way to travel between Riga and Vilnius, and breaks up a long journey. We wanted to see 2 of the places we visited, which would have been a day trip if we hadn't used this company. The stops along the way break up a long trip and the amount of time at each one was just about perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed my day tour from Riga to Vilnius with Anna and Kamile. Both guides provided interesting facts about both countries, and also shared experiences that their families had dealt with. They were informative, interesting and at times numerous. Lunch was well organised and tasty.

A last minute decision to skip a plane and enjoy a drive between Riga and Vilnius. SO glad we did. Our guides (Anna and Kimmie - we were lucky to have both) were both incredibly well informed, funny, classy AND they loved the 80s. For young people in their early 20s they rocked our era en route between stops. Speaking of which - each stop was very well guided, with thoughtful comments and suggestions along the way. What a brilliant day from start to finish, Kamile is a credit to the tour company, funny, friendly and a fountain of knowledge. Even dropped us off at the hotel too! "Wonderful tour!"

We had a really great tour from Riga to Vilnius with Kamile. She kept us entertained and also is super knowledgable and full of great stories. While the tour obviously costs more than public transportation, we felt it was definitely worth it because we saw some places we wouldn't have chosen to see beforehand but really enjoyed, and others which we wanted to see but are really hard to access via public transportation. Unfortunately, due to the shorter days in winter, Trakai wasn't included in our tour, but it was an easy trip from Vilnius, so it wasn't so bad.

Our guide/driver was amazing. The tour is perfectly organized and you have the chance to see a lot of places badly connected to each other. In one day you can see them all and share this opportunity with some great people!

"Vilnius to Riga tour"

It was a good way to make a one way journey to Riga. Pick up was on time and at the location stated. It was a small group 5 in total (maybe due to winter period) but no complaints as it was a friendly bunch and more spacious in the van! Kamille was so lovely and friendly. Told us a little about the places we visited. It was a cold weekend but seeing the castle, walking on the frozen lake and the hill of crosses covered in snow was beautiful, also seeing the small town of Kaunas. We took a tour of the palace inside as it was cold, which was so colourful and in the summer the gardens would 've been beautiful. We maybe spent around 30-40minutes at each of the places and stopped for lunch for about the same time. Overall it was well planned and everything was done to schedule so we could see all the places and arrived on time to Riga. We would recommend the trip to anyone wanting a oneway ride. Maybe next time we would take the trip from Riga to Tallinn or even to the beach in Lithuania!

"More Interesting Way of Travelling Between Countries"

Way better than sitting idle in a bus or train for a long period of time. Lau our guide was great, full of energy on a cold gloomy day! He gave us many interesting facts and was very engaging. We ran into a mini accident so we were not able to enter the Rundāle palace. Nonetheless, Lau brought us in the palace grounds and still gave us an in depth run down of the place. This trip is highly recommended!

We had a great time from Rīga-Vilnius. The tour guide is super good and has a good attitude and understand our needs. They are very useful and informative giving us a snap info of where we visit. As we traveled with seniors, they did their best to accommodate our parents by having parking space/drop off and pick up location next to the places we visit and help them to get on and off the mini van. I would recommend this trip to everyone. It is far better than you drive yourself in such a bad weather conditions. It is worried-free. All you need to do is to sit back and relax.

We had a private bus tour from Riga to Vilnius and we are really glad that we did it in this way, otherwise it would be impossible to have visited so many places in one day if we had done it by public transportation. It was so much easier when travelling with kids and big luggages. And we learned so much about the history of the Baltic countries (especially Lithuania!). Laura is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable, helpful, funny with great personality! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who travel through the Baltic countries!

We were picked up in a minibus and it was comfortable. The tour was great if you are going from either Vilnius to Riga or the opposite. We got from Riga to Vilnius and it was a lot of interesting stops on the way. We learned alot of history about al the Baltic countries and saw new places. Our tour guide was Laurynas and it was like visiting a history lesson, a theater tour and comedy stand up at once. He drived safe and careful. It’s a very low price for a whole day of entertainment. I want to recommend everybody to take this trip. You will regret not doing this.

It was a cold (and literally dead) day in Vilnius when Laurynas picked us up, but he was able to turn it into a still very entertaining day. The tour was well guided and timed. With sufficient and interesting background informartion on sights we saw, it was a smooth journey from vilnius to riga. Everything was on time and very comfortable. 5 well chosen spots to stop along the way. Lucky with the weather but unfortunately the last two stops in the dark due to short days but both stops are beautifully lit up at night, so it was still perfect in a different way. "Gloomy weather but still a shiny tour"

Camile our tour guide made up for the gloomy, rainy, cold and windy weather by being the most cheerful tour guide i've ever experienced. It was more like having a conversation with a friend more than being with a tour guide during our tour. She really made us feel at home and we enjoyed our trip!

"Best way to get between the cities, totaly worth 12 hours of your time! "

I hate getting frustrated and in general that's why I put my expectations so low about everything. When I saw a 12 hours tour stuck with strangers I thought: man, that's going to be either a total crap or a exhausting experience. My thoughts were wrong, that was an AMAZING experience! And I would say, the success was solely thanks to our guide driver: Laura was is her name (make sure you get the pronunciation correct mate). But to give you a brief explanation about my day: When she first spoke at like 7:50 AM (so full of energy), I was hangover, with a headache after a big night out with drinks, I thought: This is going to be a DISASTER! But what I thought was going power my irritability (her endless energy) was the biggest blessing of the day. It was by her energy that the trip turned out to be one of the ones I will never forget! She really turned around the wheel and showed the amazing sights between Riga, Vilnius and everything in between with the honesty and passion that only a truly wonderful local would be able to do. If "Traveler Tours" have chosen her to be their driver, trust me and my partner who was with me, they know what they are doing! Be aware readers, to change my mood (I'm such a grumpy person) it's one achievement that It's really rare. I still follow her on insta just to get a glimpse of the amazing places she visits and the endless energy that she emanates. Make sure you get Laura as your driver, but if you don't I'm sure it will be an amazing experience anyway. Also, think about it: the alternative is a bleak cold buss, that goes from city to city bypassing everything in between. I could be telling you about the places I've visited (that you would not visit if you chose the cold and bleak buss). Places that are so unearthly (like the Hill of Crosses) that I would not be able to put down in words. Or I could tell you about the castles, that are stunning (but mostly rebuilt from after war), but I could never explain the memories and the passions built in the stories that our driver did. Thank you so much Laura! <3 Bottom line: If you came to read the reviews it's probably because you are unsure if it's worth your time&money. I've already given you the answer so: there are LIMITED spots, don't waste your time, just book it. By the time you read this might be none left, sorry. To the lonely travelers: best opportunity to make friends!!!

Alina, our driver and guide, was very cheerful and active. She had lots of stories and jokes to tell. She drove carefully. The van was spacious and had lots of space for luggage. A bottle of drinking water was provided. The whole tour took 12 hours. I find it too long. One of the reasons was Alina was not very strict with time. Some tourists spent their time as they wanted.

"Best way to travel from Vilnius to Riga!"

I loved this day trip going from Vilnius to Riga. We had a small group, so it was very personable and our tour guide, Laura, was amazing. The stops we made were really the best places between Vilnius and Riga, and at each one we had a little time to check things out. Yes, you may want to spend more time at Trakai, or Kaunas, but because I knew our time was limited we went to these places the day before. We spent our time at Rundale exploring the gardens, if we had more time I suppose we would've checked out the interior too. Truly, the best part of the trip was our guide/driver, Laura, her knowledge and fun attitude kept us all laughing and learning the entire trip. I would definitely recommend this as the best way to travel from Vilnius to Riga!!

"Excellent Tour, Amazing Tour Guide"

As I’m visiting all three Baltic countries, I wanted to see more than just the capital cities. Combining a tour with travel from Vilnius to Riga seemed the most efficient way to do so. And it was absolutely worth the extra journey time and cost. From the outset our guide was friendly, welcoming and super informative. I really enjoyed learning more about the history of both Lithuania and Latvia against the backdrop of autumn leaves and sunlight. My favourite stop was the Rundāles Pils garden, which was amazing. My only suggestion would be maybe starting the tour an hour earlier to beat the sunset to the last stop at Salaspils Memorial at this time of year, though seeing the stars start to come out was quite beautiful anyway.

We took the Vilnius-Riga tour for a chance to explore the Lithuanian and Latvian countryside instead of a direct but dull bus - and we weren't disappointed. Karolis was a brilliant guide, very friendly and knowledgeable about all the places we visited and the region in general. The tour managed to pack a lot in without feeling too exhausting. Trakai Castle was a particular highlight but loved every bit of it - a beautiful part of the world and we are very glad we visited!

We recently visited the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. We organized our own itinerary but used Traveller Tours to get us from one country to the next. We arrived in Tallinn, Estonia a day earlier to visit the city. The next day, Traveller Tours took us from Tallinn to Riga, Latvia. We spent the next day, visiting Riga ourselves. The following day, we continued our Traveller Tour to Vilnius, Lithuania. The following day, we included the city guided Vilnius tour in our visit. Traveller Tours is a great way to see the Baltic countryside visiting may sites you wouldn’t see otherwise. Our drivers, Camille and La..were friendly, and enthusiastic guides. They were knowledgeable of the past and present history of their countries. A lot of this history was told to them by their grandparents who experienced WW II. This day trip lets you discover so much of these amazing countries that you would never know if you only visited the capital cities. The Baltic countries are all beautiful and unique, with a complex history and so many interesting sites to explore. This day trip gives you a taste for all of it - sobering war camps, beautiful gardens, (tasty) reindeer farms, the awesome hill of crosses, and even sunset over the castle at Trakai. But enough about the countries - the real highlight was the tour guide. Imagine a viking crossed with a teady-bear, and then topped with a playful sense of humour and a deep, honest interest in everyone he meets. Oh, and did I mention he sometimes gives you chocolate? Laurynas made the trip fun, educational, and inspiring. His passion for the Baltic countries, and their history, was entirely contagious. Also, he has really good taste in music playlists! I can't recommend this tour and the company any more highly - just book it!

This was a great way to travel from Riga to Vilnius. Although 12 hours sounded like a long day, it went surprisingly quickly. This was certainly helped by our knowledgeable and friendly driver (Lau), his good sense of humour and excellent choice of road trip music! Fun to travel in this small group and share experiences. This was the ideal way to get to know more about the two countries, see some of the iconic sites and get from A to B. Laurynas brought history to life and took very good care of us. So we were well looked after, had a nice lunch (the apple pie is much recommended!) and altogether a very good time together.

As with most people, I opted to take this tour to see a bit of the countryside of Latvia / Lithuania rather than take the direct bus route. Overall, the tour was great - well paced (we left and arrived on time, and the guide made sure we had ample opportunity to see sites), great information at each stop, and plenty of time to explore independently after the initial introduction to the site. Really enjoyed it!
