Andres Senior Tour Guide

Andres has studied culture theories and theology thus working at Traveller is no surprise. We take pride in being one of the biggest employers of graduates of those fields in Estonia.

He has spent his years gathering a wide array of experiences. He has been a voluntary social worker in Zambia, worked as a tour guide in a museum, and been a mascot for a Finnish alcohol company. Andres says he has picked every fruit agriculture has to offer, mostly in boiling heat in Australia.

Among weirder activities he is proud of he once cosplayed a monk for two weeks and lived in an old monastery (in October and medieval monasteries don’t have radiators) and he once spent two months during winter living in an apartment with 5C. Strangely he seems to somehow be stuck in cold temperatures a lot.

He buys and sells used books and dreams of one day owning a bookshop. At his free time, Andres likes to spend time with his dog named Neighbour or Naaber in Estonian.

Andres is humorous and loves to talk about personal memories and experiences to sights on the tour, these memories are mostly embarrassing. Indulge him.

"Much more to these countries than their capital cities!!!"

I had previously taken the tour from Vilnius to Riga, because I think it’s a good opportunity to see some of these beautiful countries outside of their capital cities. This tour was also very interesting and informative. Our guide was friendly and welcoming, he gave a great introduction to his country.

"Informative and entertaining, despite the rain!"

Though Tallinn is absolutely lovely, I was eager to experience some of Estonia's famous nature! This day trip to Lahemaa National Park did the trick! Although it was chilly and rainy, our little group still had a great time. The bog walk is absolutely beautiful, and our other stops provided a diverse set of experiences and views. Plus, Andres was a knowledgeable, friendly, and funny guide. It was a great trip, and I'll happily take another day trip with Traveller if and when (!) I return to Estonia.

"Such a beauty of nature out there"

So peaceful out there and i really enjoyed to escape the city. Wish I could stay longer. Thanx to Andres for making this day so amazing with his lovely episodes about the estonien und their beautiful nature and traditions. All the best and keeps it up!

"Great to explore"

We took the Tallinn to Riga tour, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great to meet fellow travellers taking the same Baltic tour as us. Our guide was informative at the stops, and answered any questions professionally. The only reason for a four star is we would have liked a little more commentary whilst driving through different areas, and would have been nice to have had more of a group introduction before the tour started as I have no idea of anyone's names!. Would highly recommended the tour and the company regardless though.

"great day tour to see more of Estonia and Latvia"

The tour was easy to book, but the process lacked a bit of information such as the starting and ending points, I had to enquire about these after my booking had been confirmed. We waited for the tour at the arranged meeting point and the minibus turned up on time. The guide was a good driver and the bus in good condition. The tour is really enjoyable and you get to see and learn about parts of the country you would not necessarily go to. Walking down the bob sleigh run was great and also visiting the national park for a forest walk to the river. Although the tour was nearly 12 hours long it didn't seem like it, the stops were well placed out during the day and the lunch stop was at a very good reasonably priced restaurant. The website showed lots of young people on this tour and we thought at the age of 60 we might be a bit out of the tours usual demographic, but it wasn't a problem, this tour is suitable for any age.

"Fun and informative "

A fun and interesting day out in Lahemaa National park. Our guide Andres took us to Estonia’s largest waterfalls, an old manor house, a few fishing villages and on a walk across a bog. Throughout the tour we learned a lot about Estonian culture and history as well as details about how traditional houses were built and the local flora and fauna. We stopped for lunch at a homestead that claims to make the best smoked fish in the world - I am inclined to agree! All in all a fun day out that just flew by and excellent value for money.
