"The best way to go from Tallinn to Riga "
A full of beautiful pictures and places day. Our guide-driver Krislin made our day more easier.
"Great way to travel between Riga and Tallinn"
Fun and historic places that we wouldn't have visited, as we had not rented a car. Loved Viljande and the bobsleigh track. Not convinced about the military museum though.
Very friendly guide, who was eager to tell us about her beautiful country,
"Interesting way to travel from Latvia to Tallin"
I loved the tour and the company. If you want a nice trip between Riga and Tallin rather than a boring journey I would recommend it. Small negative I felt the tour guide was more interested in Estonian history than Latvian and we could have had more historical detail. Not sure about the military museum as I have an aversion to nationalism and militarism and the exhibits were only labelled in Estonian. It was interesting however to learn about Estonia’s struggle for independence. Lunch in Valga was great food. Other highlights were the Gauja national park and Viljendi.
"Best day getting from A to B ever!"
We had a fabulous day with Krislin, she was very informative but kept everything light and fun. Messing around on the large swing at the castle ruins in Viljandi was one of the highlights of our holiday. The military museum was interesting but less of our sort of thing, Krislin quickly realised this and we moved on. We were lucky enough to have good weather which made the Gauja National Park even more beautiful. Cesis was a pretty little town and we were ready for a drink in the sun. The bobsleigh in Sigulda was fun although in a perfect world we would have been there early enough to have a go.
So to sum it up, I stumbled across this tour when looking for a way of getting from Tallinn to Riga and we ended up having a lovely day. We saw bits of both Estonia and Latvia which we would not otherwise have discovered and turned a travelling day into a holiday highlight. The tour was great value for money and Krislin could not have been better.
"Very interesting sightseeing tour "
Very nice guide knowing everything about Estonia and Latvia, people, countryside, monuments, history and languages... We learned so much from Krislin !
"Informative "
Kristin was knowledge and patient with all of us. Great trip! I would recommend it
"What a ride!"
Krislin was a wonderful tour guide. It’s a 12 hour day but broken up nicely so it doesn’t seem overly long. The stops were definitely worth seeing. One I could have passed on, but Krislin made it extremely interesting. The bob sled track was especially interesting to see.
"Fun, sociable and educational. We had a great day."
Krislin was a charming, relaxed and well informed guide. It was really nice meeting a small group of people from all over the world and spending some time with them in the context of interesting activities that sparked conversation. The stops on the tour were varied and the tour well structured and thought out. The restaurant we ate lunch in was outstanding.
"Exciting and informative tour"
A really great experience to visit Lahemaa. Our guide was very nice and kind. She gave lots of information about the sights, which were so beautiful. We enjoyed every second of this tour!
"Best way between the capitals"
If your going to travel between the capitals, why not spend a little more time and see the countryside, castles, towns, and bobsled track? Absolutely worth it and our guide was great!
"A perfect day in Lahemaa"
good service, friendly guide, a lot of information about the park and the estonian way of life and sunny whether!
Great experience!
"See more than Tallinn"
Professional and knowledgeable guide showed us more than the cities and gave us context for understanding Estonia more fully.
"best way to see Latvia and Estonia!"
Great tour from Riga to Tallinn! We enjoyed seeing some out-of-the-way sites that we would never have made it to on our own, while traveling to our next overnight destination. Krislin was an engaging and informative guide, who shared a lot of Estonian cultural tidbits with us.
"WOW!"
Kris (Kristin) picked us up across from the Tallinn tourist office promptly at 9:00 a.m. in a brand new van which held up to eight people. As there were only five of us in this van we were most comfortable. She clearly explained the agenda and sought our input as to whether we preferred an early or a late lunch and she continued to seek our input as to the timing of things depending on how we were feeling.
Kris’ English is outstanding; she’s energetic, upbeat, extremely knowledgeable, clear, honest, funny and kind. We had a wonderful twelve hours with her.
Total honesty here: we could have done without the military museum as it was a bit unsophisticated, and IF you have trouble going up and down stairs or hills, this tour may be too much for you. Ask if they have a less energetic tour as we walked about 4.4 miles, 11,347 steps and climbed the equivalent of 21 floors (gotta love the iPhone’s “Health” app!).
We had time for an absolutely delicious, relaxed lunch where we learned more about each other and about Estonia and Latvia. We would have said the highlight of the tour were the walks around the two castles and environs —until Chris took us to the facility where Olympic teams practice for the bobsled. For some reason, walking this track where Olympic hopefuls and champions have worked was especially impressive.
My husband and I strongly recommend this company and this tour; thank you Kris.
"Most fun route from Tallinn to Riga"
My partner and I were so excited when we found this unique trip between Tallinn and Riga that it quickly became a focal of our trip. The communication during the booking process was fantastic. Our guide, Kristin, was a local Estonian. It was great to have her tell us about her country as we visited some really unique and a bit more off the beaten track sights (at least for foreign tourists). I can’t recommend this trip enough.
"Bloody smashing"
Fantastic host! Great sights. Can not recommend enough. Ps we hope this is the right tour guide ps soz we don’t remember your name but you were brilliant none the less THANKS!
"From old to modern history and from industrial heritage to nature."
I had an excellent tour guide Krislin. Her native town was Kohtla-Järve and she gave us a lot of information about this eastern part of Estonia. Many thanks! The tour is an excellent mixture of old (Toolse fortress, Narva castle+memorial of 1700 battle) and new history (WWII, Soviet era) together with industrial heritage (oil shale mining, Kreenholm factory). A contract of walking in a "ghost town" and in Sillamäe was unbelievable. The distance of 210 km gave me a perspective of a size of Estonia and of her fields and woods which we were passing.
"Great fun .. even in the pitch black"
9 hour tour of Lahemaa NP. It was December so only 5 hours of daylight to see main highlights, Jagala Waterfall and Viru Bog. The bog was beautiful in the snow and ice. We were expecting tour to be cut short but it carried on for the unique experience of seeing Kasmu coast by twilight and then Sagadi Manor in the pitch black. A great day out with a fun and informative guide.
"Estonia is more them Tallinn"
Grazie alla nostra guida abbiamo scoperto splendidi luoghi in cui altrimenti non saremmo mai stati. Ne vale la pena.
