Explore the very best of North-Latvian & South-Estonian countryside on your way to Tallinn.
Laurynas is the human equivalent of a teddy bear passing on hugs and candy to make your day brighter with his presence. If he asks “how are you doing”, he actually genuinely expects an answer.
He studied Finance and Management but besides school, he says life has been more influenced by volunteering in various NGOs, taking self-challenging classes and delivering workshops in different countries across the globe as well as working as a customer service rep for an IT company and as a driver for a deluxe taxi service. Besides this impressive array of experiences and expertise, he can also dance like nobody’s watching.
Having already hitchhiked 11.000km across Europe, hiked 100km in two days on the Camino, ran a full marathon of 42 kilometres with only two months of preparation, Laurynas now dreams of making a minute of uninterrupted eye contact with the Dalai Lama, high-fiving the Pope or hiking around the Lithuanian border.
Laurynas will make sure you see a mixture of important, interesting places on the tour meanwhile telling you fascinating stories of everyday life in the Baltics.

Our trip from Riga to Vilnius was amazing, in main part to our wonderful guide Lau. He had a bus full of ladies and made our day comfortable, easy and enjoyable. He was a master at the walk and talk and gave us plenty of time to see the sights, great background knowledge about each place and personalized drop off to each of our hotels. He also gave us each some Lithuanian chocolate and candies as a sweet gift! We really loved traveling with him and the sights we were able to see along the way which would have taken up much more time as day trips from Riga or Vilnius. Definitely the best and most entertaining way to get from city to city, meet other travelers and get a local guide!
We were lucky enough to have the tour operated for just the 2 of us so maximum flexibility. Our guide ‘Lorenzo’ was great, knowledgeable and happy to meet our schedule.
We had a great time with our tour host, Lau. He was super upbeat, had some great playlists the he played during the drive (after lunch when we were all sleepy it was calming piano and ambient music), and he was really kind. He shared some great facts about each site but also insight into Lithuanian culture. We had a great time-- thanks for a lovely trip!
It is the best way moving to Vilnius to Riga. Firstly I planed to go to the hill of crosses by myself. But I noticed it takes time and I need to carry heavy luggage’s... This tour takes me some places I want to go, Kaunas , the hill of crosses and Rundāle pils. It is very nice experience in Lithuania. And our guide,Mr. Laurynas, is the best guide!!! He knows about the places very well and teach us kindly, sometimes with jokes:) I highly recommend this tour!
It was a great way to travel from Riga to Vilnius and Lau really took care of us.
A brilliant day going to places that you would otherwise never have time for. Though long the trip is broken down into small journeys with stops so you don’t realise how the day is going. Very good value.
We had an excellent tour from Vilnius to Riga. Our fellow passengers were great. We had so much fun together, Also, Laurynas, our tour guide, was superb. He has a wicked sense of humor and great taste in music. In addition, he is very thoughtful and sensitive. A bee was stuck in the van at one point, Laurynas saved him, named him Charlie and proceeded to make multiple puns about Charlie. As my husband said, he made the difference between a good and a great trip.
The trip by minivan from Vilnius to Riga was comfortable, scenic, interesting and fun. Our guide Laurynas has a deep understanding of the history and culture of the two countries and is excellent at communicating this in an informative and interesting manner. I was also able to meet very interesting travel companions. All in all, a great trip.
The tour was very nice, but our guide Lao was remarkable, outstanding. Made the whole difference
We took the trip from Riga to Vilnius and had a wonderful time. Laurynas was wonderful and made the trip so interesting and fun. It was a great way to travel between cities and see some of the sights we wanted to see along the way. Laurynas’ knowledge, sense of humor and obvious pride of his country is an asset to Traveller Tours.
Lou is the best tour guide I have ever met! He is very considerate and help us a lot, give us a lot of useful information, both historical and for eating and entertainment! Also,he would have u some sweet. I would recommend every friends to visit Baltic and participate in this tour!
Overall interesting and informative but in an attempt (I guess) to make tour members relate to the horrors of children being separated from their parents at work camps, our guide very suddenly shouted “MAMA!!!” during his explanation. All of our group members were visibly startled/confused, as were other visitors at the memorial. This was completely inappropriate and should be stopped immediately.
It was a very pleasant day with a funny guide giving exactly the right amount of explanations and free time!
Laurynas was the perfect guide and driver. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The stops were the right length. Our lunch stop served traditional Lithuanian food. It was great. Would highly recommend this tour.
We did a private tour , with Laurynas as our guide. The tour was amazing and we were able to cover all the key sights between Vilnius and Riga , at a comfortable pace . The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. Highly recommend the tour especially if you would like to maximize your time.
This is a really great way to go between Vilnius and Riga. Get a chance to see places you wouldn't be able to otherwise. Group side is perfect. The guide is really good and witty. Provided us with water & chocolate (winning!) It's a long drive but plenty of stops and there wasn't anything in the itinerary that wasn't already mentioned.
For first timers the bus may be faster but the insights would be nil. The van stops in places that give you insight into the country.
We chose this bus over an express coach or a train because we wanted to see something of the countryside between these two Baltic capitals....and we weren't disappointed. The bus was comfortable and the group small enough to entertain each other between stops. Our guide/driver was excellent: he was a smooth, considerate driver and a most knowledgeable and charming guide. The drives between stops were no more than 2 hours in length and the time at each of the places we visited was just right for seeing around.
I wish there was a little more legroom in the bus....i was quite cramped the whole ride.... But other than that, this was a fantastic trip. I learned a lot, the guide was very knowledgeable....you could tell he knew the subject matter from all the follow-up questions. And he was hilarious! He kept the group laughing the whole time. Would definitely recommend him!
We had a great group of travellers and a wonderful guide. He was so thoughtful. We arrived in Riga in the pouring rain and he made sure everyone could get to their accommodation without getting drowned!
I'd booked this tour when it still included a stop at Trakai, and was a little disappointed when they changed the itinerary slightly to remove Trakai. However, after going on the tour, I think that was a great decision. The tour made 4 stops: Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, and Kaunas. We had a good amount of time at each place, although I wish we'd had 15 minutes less at Hill of Crosses and 15 minutes more at Rundale Palace. With the time given at Rundale Palace, you can either tour the garden (which is included in the price of the tour), or you can buy your own ticket to tour the inside of the palace. I managed to cram in both, but it was very, very rushed, and the inside of the palace ended up being the highlight of the day for me. I think if the tour cost an extra 10EUR and included the ticket to tour the inside of the palace for an extra 15-20 minutes, with less time at Hill of Crosses, it would have been perfect. We had about 35 minutes I think at Hill of Crosses, and it was a little too much since it starts to look all the same after a while.
We have fun filled time with Laurynas. He is punctual and knowledgeable.
We had an awesome time on our Riga-Vilnius trip! Our guide was exceptional; he was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable. (It was 37 degrees, so that was no small feat!) He answered all of our questions with skill and humor, and taught us about Latvian and Lithuanian cultures. We took his advice about restaurants in Vilnius and have been amazed by our experiences. I hope to come back to the Baltic someday and take some more tours with your company. Our experience was fantastic and the travel was seamless. The cost was very reasonable, especially for the value we received. Could not ask for anything more!
We really enjoyed our ride from Vilnius to Riga. Laurynas was a fantastic guide & driver. He was knowledgeable, humorous, and friendly, and personable. He'd go out of his way to make it easier for the group to get back to the van and even though there were several stops, it never felt rushed or like we were there too long.
I recommend this tour without a doubt
I really enjoyed this tour to Vilnius from Riga. It stopped at a variety of interesting sights along the way and our guide had lots to tell us about each of them. The time we spent at each was just right and we reached Vilnius in good time where we were each dropped at our individual accommodation.
This was my second trip with this company. This was as pleasurable and educational as the one before from Tallinn to Riga. All the stops were well organized, the guides are always full of knowledge and humor. They are very engaging and keep everyone excited, even though several were tired from partying last nite. The stopover for food is well planned. The only thing I would mention that the food stopover is at a traditional food joint. Though it may appeal to many, it is not an establishment I would ever go to.
The tour was fantastic, such amazing spots seen along the way that would have otherwise been hard to reach. Really authentic experience with a lovely Lithuanian guide with great knowledge and always willing to go the extra mile to make our day great. Thanks for a great day!
The tour was excellent. Laurynas was so friendly and accommodating to all of the guests, and made us feel very welcome. He truly wanted everyone to have a great experience. The sites chosen provided a great mix of old and more modern history. I would highly recommend Traveller to those touring the Baltics.
Interesting trip and nice guides! You will get great impressions, a really tasty lunch and can enjoy/sing to some local music while during the roadtrip Funfact: May you see the banana and blueberry cows.
I'd taken this tour in November 2018 from the other direction and had Laurynas as my guide. It was so amazing that I had to book this tour again for when my family came to visit me in Europe as part of our mini tour across the continent. I'd wanted to give them an experience they never forget. Much to my surprise, I had Laurynas as my guide again. I was extremely certain that they were going to have an amazing time as I did the last time when he picked us up that morning. Needless to say, they did! My family absolutely loved the trip and the time spent with Laurynas. The tour itself is extremely interesting with a lot to learn and see. But Laurynas definitely made it better. Given how we've really enjoyed this trip, guess I'm going to have to come back again in 6 months! :D

Lau (sp?) did a great job with the tour/transfer from Vilnius to Riga. He's a great driver, and a really friendly, humorous, and interesting guide. He gave our group a lot of great information about each site, and he went out of his way to make everything easier for us - brought the van to pick us up so we didn't have to walk back, gave us little candies, etc. The stops were very interesting (Kaunas, the hill of crosses, Rundale Palace and Salaspils Memorial) and it gave me an opportunity to see parts of Latvia and Lithuania I wouldn't have seen on a regular bus between Vilnius and Riga.
a great day of sightseeing. Lovely and informative tour guide Lau who had both a good sense of humour and a passion and respect for his countr's history
Excellent tour. The other people booked on the tour cried off so we had a tour for just 2. Very informative with the guide being knowledgable and friendly. Lunch was excellent. I would recommend.
Everything was great. Lau was and excellent driver and guide, knowledgable and nice person. The car was confortable. Stops were interesting. It is worth.
Our tour guide was Lau. He was just funny, knowledgeable, warm and very well informed. The 4 stops were well sequenced. The 12 hours flew by and the choice of music in the car was excellent. The co-passengers were fun too. All in all, worth every penny paid.
Laurynas was a great tour guide. Firstly the van was spacious and comfortable. I would not have gone to the sites covered on the tour on my own. Laurynas knew the history and information on every site visited. He also provided treats along the way. Laurynas was kind enough to drop us off at our accomodation which is not part of the tour. He also suggested things to do and a great local cuisine restaurant. I highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky enough to have Laurynas, you will have a great time.
VERY NICE PERSON , INTERESTING EPLANATIONS AND TRIP
It was a perfect day; our guide Laurynas was a great driver and a great guide, he told us a lot of interesting things about what we were seeing. The group was small: me, 2 japanese girls and a canadian boy! This is the best way to move from Vilnius to Riga (or from Riga to Vilnius), you can see a lot of things and learn very much about Lithuania and Latvia! Thanks for the wonderful day!
Everything about the trip was amazing. It's cool to visit so many places in a day. Laurynus, our guide shared with us about the history and also many of his personal experiences, which was really entertaining. It was soo nice of him to take us to Trakai as we had some extra time and even dropped us off at our designated hotels. I couldn't thank you enough for such a memorable journey.
Laurynas and the tour were both amazing. The sites were interesting and he really knew what he was talking about. Food was good and the van was comfortable. Great way to get from Vilnius to Riga.
We really enjoyed our tour bus journey from Riga to Vilnius. Our tour guide Laurynas was great, really nice guy with lots of knowledge on the history of the stops of the tour. He kept us all entertained with stories, jokes and his playlist. There were eight of us on the tour, but lots of space for our luggage and leg room throughout. We were given free bottles of water and some Lithuanian snacks, which were great to try! On arriving in Lithuania, we stopped at a restaurant specialising in venison. The prices were reasonable and the portions were very large! The stops on the tour were very interested and we learnt a lot of the history. Alongside the stops featured on the list, we also stopped at Trakai, which was beautiful. Also at the end of the tour, we were dropped off outside our Air BnB. A great finish to a lovely day. Thank you Lau for a really good tour, it was great to meet you! We recommend the tour for anyone looking to travel between Riga and Vilnius.

It was a long journey trip but better than just taking the bus from Riga to Vilnius. Highly recommended !
Way better than sitting idle in a bus or train for a long period of time. Lau our guide was great, full of energy on a cold gloomy day! He gave us many interesting facts and was very engaging. We ran into a mini accident so we were not able to enter the Rundāle palace. Nonetheless, Lau brought us in the palace grounds and still gave us an in depth run down of the place. This trip is highly recommended!
Absolutely a fantastic way of travelling from Riga to Vilnius. Saw a bunch of highlights of Latvia and Lithuania other than the capital cities. Laurynas is a great guide, very helpful and fun. Fantastic day!
Laurynas was very knowledged in the histories of both countries and has a great way of storytelling :) The sites along the way are really nice and worth visiting.
Such a great way to see the sites between the capital cities, as well as getting some insight into the culture with the informal chats with your tour guide-driver while on the road. Far better than flying or standard bus. Very highly recommended!
We were picked up in a minibus and it was comfortable. The tour was great if you are going from either Vilnius to Riga or the opposite. We got from Riga to Vilnius and it was a lot of interesting stops on the way. We learned alot of history about al the Baltic countries and saw new places. Our tour guide was Laurynas and it was like visiting a history lesson, a theater tour and comedy stand up at once. He drived safe and careful. It’s a very low price for a whole day of entertainment. I want to recommend everybody to take this trip. You will regret not doing this.
It was a cold (and literally dead) day in Vilnius when Laurynas picked us up, but he was able to turn it into a still very entertaining day. The tour was well guided and timed. With sufficient and interesting background informartion on sights we saw, it was a smooth journey from vilnius to riga. I thank Laurynas and my fellow travellers for making the trip enjoyable and very comfortable.
Really glad that i did this tour, I didn’t really do research on the visited places but the guide explained it well.
The tour was amazing. Our tour guide, Laurynas, did an amazing job throughout the trip. He gave us so much insights and information on the places we visited. The stories he told were incredibly interesting. Besides, I probably wouldn't have visited these places on my own if it weren't for this tour. Definitely give it a go!
Really enjoyed the tour! Thanks so much to our awesome guide, Laurynas! He was very knowledgable and funny and helped make the tour a great day. Much better doing this than just taking a normal coach etc
tour and guide were excellent . we completed our 5 places visit 1 hour ago. then we request Laurynas to take us some picturious places in Vilnius. He did . He also help us to get food that we choose. it was a nice experience. best wishes. rashid
As I’m visiting all three Baltic countries, I wanted to see more than just the capital cities. Combining a tour with travel from Vilnius to Riga seemed the most efficient way to do so. And it was absolutely worth the extra journey time and cost. From the outset our guide was friendly, welcoming and super informative. I really enjoyed learning more about the history of both Lithuania and Latvia against the backdrop of autumn leaves and sunlight. My favourite stop was the Rundāles Pils garden, which was amazing. My only suggestion would be maybe starting the tour an hour earlier to beat the sunset to the last stop at Salaspils Memorial at this time of year, though seeing the stars start to come out was quite beautiful anyway.
We recently visited the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. We organized our own itinerary but used Traveller Tours to get us from one country to the next. We arrived in Tallinn, Estonia a day earlier to visit the city. The next day, Traveller Tours took us from Tallinn to Riga, Latvia. We spent the next day, visiting Riga ourselves. The following day, we continued our Traveller Tour to Vilnius, Lithuania. The following day, we included the city guided Vilnius tour in our visit. Traveller Tours is a great way to see the Baltic countryside visiting may sites you wouldn’t see otherwise. Our drivers, Camille and La..were friendly, and enthusiastic guides. They were knowledgeable of the past and present history of their countries. A lot of this history was told to them by their grandparents who experienced WW II. Traveller Tours is giving international tourists the opportunity to visit this part of the world in a small group experience. Guides: Kamilie to Riga, Laurynas to Vilnius
This day trip lets you discover so much of these amazing countries that you would never know if you only visited the capital cities. The Baltic countries are all beautiful and unique, with a complex history and so many interesting sites to explore. This day trip gives you a taste for all of it - sobering war camps, beautiful gardens, (tasty) reindeer farms, the awesome hill of crosses, and even sunset over the castle at Trakai. But enough about the countries - the real highlight was the tour guide. Imagine a viking crossed with a teady-bear, and then topped with a playful sense of humour and a deep, honest interest in everyone he meets. Oh, and did I mention he sometimes gives you chocolate? Laurynas made the trip fun, educational, and inspiring. His passion for the Baltic countries, and their history, was entirely contagious. Also, he has really good taste in music playlists! I can't recommend this tour and the company any more highly - just book it!
This was a great way to travel from Riga to Vilnius. Although 12 hours sounded like a long day, it went surprisingly quickly. This was certainly helped by our knowledgeable and friendly driver (Lau), his good sense of humour and excellent choice of road trip music! Our stops were all interesting and lunch was also well priced and tasty. Traveller Tours were also quick to reply to email and booking enquires. I highly recommend this company and their tours.
We did this trip with driver and guide, Lau, on 26th Sept. Fantastic way to get out of the city, see other small towns, countryside and monuments. Fun to travel in this small group and share experiences. Fascinating to have the countries' histories presented in a personal way.... everyone here has a story to tell, regarding them or their family. Lau was excellent and went out of his way to make the day special
This was the ideal way to get to know more about the two countries, see some of the iconic sites and get from A to B. Laurynas brought history to life and took very good care of us. So we were well looked after, had a nice lunch (the apple pie is much recommended!) and altogether a very good time together.
We had a fantastic day, full of information and impresessions, Lau is not only a great guide but also fun and a good driver. Best way to get from Rīga to Vilnius if interested in more than just having a transfer. Ah, lunch was delicious as well. Loved the little chocolates, Lau, thanks!
Great way to see sights that you wouldn't otherwise, great insight from Lau our guide and great way to meet others as well. Much better than catching a plane!
Really enjoyed the tour and learnt alot about Latvia and Lithuania.
We had such a good tour from Riga to Vilnius. Our driver/ guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the sites and history. He made the trip a lot of fun and he had a great sense of humour. Also he was a very safe driver.
Our guide was very well versed in the history and places.
The best tour you could ask for. Our tour guide was passionate, knowledgeable, personable and oh so thoughtful and kind. The sites we stopped at were terrific with enough time to explore after our guides explanation. He provided so much fun and the group of 8 were so happy with the entire day. Over the years we have gone on a number of tours, but this young man stood out above all others.
This is a great way to get from Riga to Vilnius! Our guides, Anna and Laurynas, did an amazing job. They were friendly. personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking this tour out if you are traveling thru the Baltic's.
We saw everything we wanted to see. We had 8 tourists in a 9 passenger van. It was great. Another van with 8 more was with another driver and van from same company. Our guide was excellent. He was from Lithuania and spoke excellent English. He drove carefully as well. It would be nice to spend a little more time at some places, but if you did you’d get into Vilnius even later than 9:15, like we did. If it left at 8:00am, you’d miss the museam at Salispils. In the end, it was the perfect tour. We saw what we wanted to see. We got from Riga to Vilnius. And, the value of the trip was very good. I seriously recommend it.
A good selection of touristic sites is offered in a kind atmosphere of a small group leaded by a kind and sympa guide. Maybe I'd like to have more time to see one of his places -like the Palace- and make 4 instead of 5 stops.
The trip was nice and relaxing. It went smoothly. Important to note that the guider was great. My family and I are deaf. He has shown respect and courtesy by communicating via texting. We received all information. We re grateful to Laurynas for the great experience.
It was fantastic. Lau, our guide is very friendly.
Our guide Laurynas was perfect : he’s genuinely a good person who is dedicated to his work and very competent. People who were with me were very nice as well. I finally came back to Trakai by myself (it’s only 2 euros by bus from Vilnius) just to swim in the lake and it was lovely. So if Laurynas invites you to do it at the end of the trip, don’t hesitate, I definitely support you to do it in case you won’t have time to go back later. I was to shy and I regret it. Good luck to our guide in his future and all the people I shared this tour with.
Excellent tour, very friendly & knowledgeable guide, well chosen sightseeing stops on the way from Vilnius to Riga. Flexible, catered to our needs perfectly.
I found this an exciting way to travel between Riga and Vilnius, it is a long day, but an adventurous alternative to a standard bus trip between cities! It's also an opportunity to cover multiple sights in one day, that you may otherwise need to visit on individual day trips from your base once there. Our guide was very energetic and engaging, passionate about the history behind these countries and the sights we visited, full of interesting stories and anecdotes which add to the experience! There were plenty of stops along the way, so you never feel as though you're stuck in the car for very long, and a lunch break too which was a late change due to the first choices being booked, but a great authentic restaurant in a beautiful countryside setting.
This tour was one of the best parts of my holiday. Great sights on the way from Riga to Vilnius, fantastic guide, learned lots, and the others in the group were great fun. Special thanks to our guide Laurynas - you made us laugh so much whilst also teaching us so much. Thank you! Highly recommended.
Wow we had a great time- we really enjoy our tour bus trip! The guide was excellent and made the trip a memorable experience - he was knowledgeable, funny and genuinely friendly guy. The drive was long but he made it fun. We have seen some really beautiful sights and fell in love in the Baltic history and culture. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and we are really happy we booked it:) and based on that experience we hopefully book again!
We travelled from Vilnius to Riga. We think that this tour was the best choice during our baltic trip! Lau (our guide) was very kind and friendly and gave a lot of information about the visited places. Moreover, he has a great sense of homour! Although the tour was long (12 hours) it was very interesting and we enjoyed every minute! The other passengers were also very nice, friendly and openminded, it was interesting to talk to each other. We recommend this tour everybody who would like to discover the essential of these countries and get unforgetable memories!
Super nice tour guide, very friendly. Great way to see the south of Latvia and north of Lithuania without going through the hassle of renting a car and everything. I would just say that maybe give a little more time to take pictures and walk around would be a plus but apart from that really great tour
Our wonderful guide, Laurynas, made the day memorable, fun and informative. He provided helpful information at each stop and answered questions fully. He has a passion for Baltic history and pride in his native country of Lithuania. At the very beginning, he had each of us introduce ourselves -- which helped him learn our names and also helped us learn the names of our fellow travelers. We appreciated his candy treats, humor and constant attention to making sure that everyone was doing well and enjoying the day. After he discovered that we all liked music, he took requests during lunch and downloaded songs for the next part of the drive. What a memorable trip singing along with new friends to our favorite songs! Once in Vilnius, he made sure we all reached our lodging places without worry. Laurynus is one of the best guides I've experienced, and I've been fortunate to travel to many countries and places across the United States. He's a keeper!
Lau was one of the most engaging, attentive, and hilarious tour guides we've ever had! Like the other tours with this company, he made the Riga to Vilnius trip lively with personalized stories, but what sets him apart are the treats (several local candies and pastries) and dropping us off to our hotels/AirBnB. He also noticed that one tire was low in air, which he quickly discovered was a flat. He found a local auto mechanic, and we were on our way again in 30 minutes! This tour is well worth the extra time and money.
Well to be honest there was only one misadventure which turned the trip in to and even better one, considering the circumstances. Lao (that's how it sounded and I saw another reviewer spell his name this way) was amazing. SUPER knowledgeable of the sights and areas we went to. Even if he wasn't telling us true stories (which i'm sure he was, because who doesnt believe Americans were the first people to settle in Riga) he told his stories with conviction, which is all i needed. No fake news here. Keep in mind this was a VERY HOT day, so he always made sure we stayed hydrated. Sadly when we were about to leave Kaunas, he did discover the van running low on air pressure and when we went to fill it up, the air didn't hold. BUT, Lao immediately got on the phone and started searching for repair shops and thankfully he found one just a couple blocks away. At the shop we all waited patiently as the tire was getting repaired (30min) which gave the tour group some bonding time. Which was good fun getting to know everyone's story. We had 2 Swedish doctors looking for the New Viagra, 2 teachers from the Netherlands just trying to escape their students, a mother and daughter from Taiwan who were probably on a bonding spirit quest, a young lady from Singapore who just wanted to do all the fun things forbidden in Singapore and not suffer the consequences of corporal punishment, and then ME, the future president of the United States. =) This delay made our timing to Trakai castle Perfect for sunset. Which was one of the bonuses. Also because of the delay, Lao treated us to a traditional Lithuanian....food thing, not sure what it was called but after i ate the first one i ordered 4 more. Also on the way back, since none of us had to be back at any particular time, we took a quick trip to the Hill of Angles, Amazing sight. And of course finally, Lao dropped all of us off at our respective sleeping locations...ohh yeah and we also got chocolates. Good people are hard to find these days. The group i was with seemed like all good people. Great people are even harder to find, and Loa is one of them. Highly recommend this trip, and any of the other Baltic trips this company has to offer. And if you get a chance to have Lao as your driver, you'll be in for most informative, adventurous journey, with treats. =) -Leo
It was great fun. Long and trying day but absolutely worth it. I would recommend this tour to anyone travelling between Vilnius and Riga. Tomorrow I will be doing the Riga-Talin one. My only comcern was that i was not not informed the departure date of the tour. I sent an email to the office but they rwpliwd the day after when I was already on the tour. This is why i gave 4 stars. The tour it self was good and well worth it. the tour guide was very professional, kind and funny. Very relaxed and easygoing people on the tour as well. Truely enjoyed it.
I loved this tour. I'm back in Canada a couple of weeks later and the tour is still quite vivid for me. The sites were interesting and the guide was informative. We had a family of five with small children and the guide was always solicitous of their comfort and helped the parents with handling the gear that their infants needed. To cap it all off, at the end of the tour he drove them right to their hotel in Vilnius so that they would have to worry about trying to find it on their own in a strange city with small children. Great job!
Took this tour from Riga to Vilnius. I highly recommend this tour if you are traveling to Vilnius (or opposite direction). All of the sites we saw were great. I have to say that we didn't get enough time at some places, and maybe a little too much in other places, but I think that is just personal preference and the tour is great for getting to see all of the sites, along with places I didn't know about before hand. I would give the tour guide 6 stars if that were possible here!
Super!
The whole experience of the tour was great and enjoyable. Our guide was very charming and knowledgeable. We eat awesome food and dessert on our way thanks to his suggestions. The sites were impressive and you shouldnt miss them if you are touring the Balkans. The only thing I would change, it would be better directions/instructions in the email to get to the meeting point. this was a shared opinion among travellers.
This 12 hour bus tour is professionally planned and executed, starting and finishing on time, with no feeling of being rushed. The 5 places we stopped at are carefully selected to give a mixture of castle garden, history, religion, the soviet period, and a beautiful town and castle by the lakes. The guide and driver (nick named Lao as we probably would spell his proper name wrong) is knowledgeable and entertaining, as well as a safe driver. The van is clean and super comfortable, with air cond a relief from this summer's heat wave. Lots of room for luggage of 8 guests in the back. Great alternative to flight or train or coach. Highly recommended for its terrific value!!
This was a great way to learn and see that Latvia and Lithuania are more than the two capitals. Lau was a great guide; enthusiastic, personable, and knowledgeable. Even though we were running a late, he didn’t rush us through all the things he wanted to show us. Despite the late hour, he took us to our hotels in Vilnius too. Great service!
The tour is a great chance to get to know locations he wouldn´t have seen otherwise. It was touching to visit Salaspils Memorial and to hear the heartbeat. It was nice to see the storks on the roofs of Rundale palace, impressive to count the thousands of crosses in Siauliai, interesting to walk through the streets of Kaunas. The highlight was Trakai castle and the Karaites´ houses and Kibinai! Thank you, Lau for this great day!
We took the tour from Riga to Vilnius. While we would have preferred a bit more of free time to explore Kaunas and Trakai, Lau, the guide, was so knowledgeable, so entertaining and nice that it was absolutely worth joining the tour! We learnt a lot and enjoyed Lau's sense of humour. Highly recommendable.
We did both transfer tours - Tallinn to Riga then Riga to Vilnius. I wish this mode of transfer was available everywhere! It was so nice to see more of the countryside as we moved between cities - it would be impossible to put together these itineraries on our own without a car. Both of the guides were very knowledgeable and professional. The stops were well chosen, the pacing was good, and both tours offered a very nice selection for lunch (additional cost but not expensive). Highly recommend.
If you have the time, don't hesitate to book this trip, it will be an amazing day. It takes about 12 hours to get from Riga to Vilnius, but along the way you get to see a lot of very beautiful places, full of history, some marked with sadness and tears while others with joy and great stories. Lau was an amazing guide, driver and companion. He was funny when he had to, thoughtful and serious when he had to, while all the time he kept sharing with us the troubled yet inspiring history of Latvia and Lithuania. Hats off to him, he was remarkable! All in all, a day to remember from our trip through the Baltics.
Grat guide and driver.
I was quite fortunate to have Lau as my tour guide. The day started off with a few that decided to skip out, greatly to their loss yet my benefit. This meant a more personal tour with Lau as he drove the van I was in with two others, while the other van followed. Lau was remarkably knowledgeable, entertaining, and genuine. During the journey we not only covered what the tour entailed, but also the sounds and tastes of the country. What otherwise would have been a simple journey to and from with tourism sights along the way, this turned out to be a fantastic voyage that will remain very memorable to me. I would highly recommend this style tour to anyone. If you need to get from A-to-B, why not do it the fun way?
From Riga to Vilnius we booked a private tour. This allowed us to visit sites we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our exceptional guide, Laurynas, took us to amazing locations, treating us like friends the whole time. We asked him questions and he asked us questions. The experience was a mutually connecting cultural exchange. He shared local folk music, local foods, and a playlist to match the sites. Thank you for showing us around the country.
We did the tour from Vilnius to Riga which covers 5 spots in two countries. We highly recommend this tour as after the tour your will feel that you know so much more about the history of Lithuania and Latvia. We also want to complement our guide Laurynas for making this a wonderful and entertaining trip.
We are a US couple in our 50s. First time to Baltic region. Took the Vilnius - Rīga trip. When we heard it was 12hours we were a little iffy. However, sunlight is long in the summer and we went for it. Our guide, Lau, made the trip very comfortable and enjoyable. We got to see and learn a lot while being transported between countries. We liked it so much, we booked a follow on trip Rīga - Tallinn. I guess that’s the best reccomendation we can give - we are repeat customers! Thanks for the wonderful service. We are excited for our upcoming journey to Tallinn
The Traveler Tour turns transport between Vilnius and Riga into a social, cultural and historical experience. Bus rides are boring, but throw together a tour guide-driver, a small group of random travelers from all over, visits to some off-the-beaten-track places, and a delicious Lithuanian lunch and you get a memorable day! I loved seeing Trakai, Kaunas, the Hill of Crosses, Rundāle Palace, & the Salspils memorial. Our guide Laurynas was great, and I came away with a real appreciation of the beautiful Baltics. Highly recommended.
Lau was very engaging. He knew his stuff and we learnt a lot about Lithuania and Latvia. Can't praise him enough. Having local guides share their own insights makes these Tours wonderful. We had Anna for the previous one and she was also doing this trip with us in another vehicle. They both are amazing. They had their areas of specialty with one being Lithuanian and the other Latvian. The tours enabled us to see places we wouldn't have been able to see if we had just caught the regular bus. A two in one experience, getting from A to B and sightseeing too. I'll recommend you to anyone I know heading this way.
Your driver/guide tried so hard to deal with passengers who SHOULD have taken the bus. ALL over 60 years. ALL convinced that they were entitled to ignore Lau’s expertise. SO kind of him to ignore their lack of world awareness. Lau knows (and APPRECIATES) Lithuanian history and culture. As he understands his role as a spokesperson for Baltic culture, maybe he can command “Silence” so that the rest of us can learn from his knowledge and LOVE of this beautiful country.
Excellent small group tour which took us to places we didn’t know existed eg the Hill of Angels. Our guide Lau was terrific - Lau gave good, clear summaries of the history and made it fun to listen. Nothing was a problem for Lau - he arranged lunch (including special requests), changed his format to suit, and even found us in our hotel to return glasses we left on the bus after the tour was over - thankyou Lau!! We were apprehensive booking the tour from home before we left but found it to be very professional and on time. Highly recommend this tour as it’s an economical way to see many sights particularly if you have limited time in the area.
Sweet & magical. Thank you, Laurynas!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip between Latvia and Lithuania. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and engaging. The stops were fantastic (Trakai was so awesome we went back for a day trip!). If you are looking for a way to go from Latvia and Lithuania, this is a great option. The only negative on this trip was the size and condition of the mini-van. The van really only fits 7 people, and we had 8 in our group. Also, the van was not as clean as I would have expected.
Laurynas was an excelent guide, tooks to some great places, and gave us loads of information about the sights and the customs of both countries, which made the trip even better. Really recomend it!
Lair saw me shivering and cold and heading back early from the garden. He lent me his hoody! What a doll! He was an excellent guide. I didn’t love the sites your business chose for the stops and meal but I really like getting out and walking around en route.
